Fritzy 22's Journal, 18 Sep 23

I went to the local farmer's market yesterday. It is small, at the local park in my town with about 6 or 7 vendors, most with stuff I shouldn't eat (a bakery and a pita place, jewelry). One vendor has all the berries - strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries. I bought 3 little pack of blackberries and raspberries. They were expensive at $5 each. After that I went to the little market to get mushrooms and onions for scrambled eggs and they had blackberries on sale for 2 for $4 so I bought 2 of them. I may go back while they are still on sale, I love blackberries!

Both Saturday and Sunday I woke up as usual to feed all my livestock (dog, cats and the feral porch kitty), then went back to sleep for 2 or 3 hours and was tired all day. I think it may have been because of the 3 days of just having liquids. Today I was up at 5:30 and am still awake! Usually, once I get up in the morning I stay up.

I go to Oregon in about 3 weeks to pick out colors and fixtures for my new house. I just hope I like the standard stuff, don't want to add lots of added costs to the house. I know they have about 12 different cabinet choices for the kitchen, lots of colors. I had my cabinets here painted blue about 2 years ago. I know I will want either blue or green cabinets in the new house. I thought I would want the blue color for the outside - but about half the houses that have been built are blue so I will probably pick something different. I think everyone is thinking blue for a beach house, even though the beach isn't visible from the houses. On the last trip my stomach was upset for most of the days so I intend to be really careful of my food choices on the next trip so I am not miserable again. It's funny how things bother me when I am away from home that I have no problem with at home.

Will you be driving up with anyone? Maybe this trip just skip the fast food entirely and pack a cooler of pre-calculated snacks or light meals. It’s awful driving with an upset stomach and not knowing when or where an available bathroom is.

Bananas, a friend is going with me. I will pick her up at the airport on the day before the trip so I can ask what she wants to do. She went with me in previous trips and she eats the way I do, or how I like to eat, more than any of my other friends. She will drink Pepsi if I brings, likes fast food and fish and chips. But I think, like me, just eats that way on vacation. I think the soda area at caused me problems on the last trip so I plan on skipping them, especially on the drive. We may pack up the cooler and eat at one of the many rest stops along the way. Most are very nice with picnic tables and clean restrooms

Blue is my favorite color. It would be so amazing to be able to choose everything. I think I would listen to my heart, but if it was a choice between two things, I usually pick a middle price point. I hope you have a wonderful journey 🙂

I went to the farmers market also, and brought all kind of goodies like cabbage, jalapenos, soups, and chocolate bark. I love the Farmers Market.

I love blackberries too and raspberries and strawberries. I like blue and green. The outside of our house has green trim. The inside is blue.

Just saw a house painted a Sandys peach color with sea foam green trim. I never would have thought to do it but it was really pretty.

Thanks Rcguenth, I've already signed a purchase agreement so if I want any upgrades it will increase the price of the house. The house comes with quartz countertops and has luxury vinyl flooring throughout the house except for carpet in the bedrooms. I don't want carpet anywhere so I know ill have to pay more for that. I know they provide options for colors. I just have to not get too carried away.

Thanks Buenita, I'm glad there wasn't chocolate bark at the farmers market. I wouldn't have been able to resist, and right now i need to avoid things like that.

Thanks Morticia. I want to decorate the new house with blues and greens. My chubby house was yellow when I bought it, with white trim. So I bought yellow quilts for the beds, yellow dishes. My sister bought me yellow bowls and pots and pans. Now j want to change everything. I won't buy new dishes but will get new beds and bedding and probably blue or green pots and pans.

Thanks Sly, The ! house sounds pretty, but I doubt it will be a choice. Here are only about a dozen homes built, most are blue but there was a pretty green house. I like blue, but not if e define has a blue house

Sounds like fun! I loved my house, it turned out just the way I wanted it to be. Hope yours does for you.

Thanks Shir - the house I lived in before this house - I bought it in 1998 and lived there until the end of 2011. It was new when I bought it, but it was already built and painted. Couldn't pick anything out. Back then everything was oak cabinets and tile cabinets anyway and neutral so I probably wouldn't have changed much anyway. I'm looking forward to a brand new house where I don't have to start repairing or replacing things right away.
