As the video indicates, the ideation comes into play sometimes with people who have pre-existing mental health conditions. Given the millions of users and this rare side effect for a limited demographic, I agree with the doc in the video that the PCP should be aware of the potential for a decline in mental health. It is one of the reasons why anybody taking the med should be monitored by their PCP and/or Endocrinologist regularly as I am. I, for one have been clinically depressed and was treated for it for years. As a user of a GLP1 medication now, depression is no longer on the radar at all. At the root of my depression has always been my weight. With food noise gone, sticking to a calorie restricted diet is achievable. From what I understand, people that descend into suicidal ideation have been using food for the dopamine hit. Others, like me have screwed up leptin and ghrelin signalling with the add on of insulin resistance. This med has corrected that, ergo the food noise going away. More users of the med (and I'm talking millions of people) do not experience the negative mental health effects, but rather the opposite. Significant mental health benefits by finally being able to do what needs to be done to get to and stay at goal. After a lifetime of feeling like a failure because of an inability to lose weight, being able to finally do so is mentally liberating.

They just want to keep your fat and sick. Sorry. ANYTHING that works they want to abolish. Just my opinion.

No, no Jen. "they" want to make billions on selling this drug, whether it makes people sick or not. I know it's working for some, but it's worth paying attention to responsible warnings. Like any drug, it may not work well for everyone. And it's not the people who are making billions who are going to research the downside.
