Last call for the BBB&E 30 day challenge. That's a deep elimination diet to reboot carnivore style. Only beef, butter, bacon and eggs. High protein, high fat, 0 carbs and no allergens. We're going to try it out and see how we feel.

Not trying to heckle you but could y’all split into groups of surplus and deficits also? I think it’s a good opportunity given that some believe with the absence of carbs they cannot get fat.

I’ll be thinking of you all while eating my pecan pancakes with maple syrup.

I don't comprehend why the folks who walk a certain path have to talk down to other's who take a different path. We are mostly all headed in the same direction, some like to climb hills and rocks, others like a garden path with pretty flowers, some do it barefoot, some have sturdy shoes. I'm just walking here, what difference does it really make to you if I don't do it your way?????

@Supergainz... No one is saying that you can not get fat in the absence of carbs. It is just highly unlikely because cravings deminish after a while if you lower them enough to enter ketosis & "willpower" is no longer much of an issue. Fat & protein are more satiating. Blood sugars level out, so there is no crash, which also triggers gherelin. I'm not saying calories don't matter in the long term, but I will say that many can still lose in the beginning with a surplus if they are holding a lot of water weight (inflammation).

...a keto diet naturally lowers calorie consumption. That's why many who do it doesn't worry about counting calories.

Ok zenus so see you make sense to me. Yea keto for the style if it’s easier for you. That I can agree with. But there’s some saying that you can’t get fat without carbs triggering insulin, which I don’t agree with.

@Supergainz... agreed. The thing about insulin, while keeping it low does not mean an automatic weight loss, it does allow the body access to fat stores. After someone has abused sugar/carbs for a certain amount of time, they become insulin resistant. Meaning, their insulin has fought the sugar/carbs for so long that sort of a tolerance has built up, and the body has to produce more to achieve the same effect to lower the blood glucose. When insulin gets that high, it causes many problems, including accessing body fat. Many of us, especially obese people, have really done a number on our metabolic systems with carb/sugar addictions. There are 2 ways to fuel the body, carbs & fat. Many of us have spent so much time in the carb zone that our bodies have basically forgotten how to switch to burning fat the way a "normal" person would. Going into ketosis for us is like reteaching our bodies how to burn fat for fuel again. Thanks for trying to understand us a little better! 🙂💜

Ketones are produced by the body breaking down fat, so if you're in ketosis then you're burning fat. You can make that happen by exercising (hard for fat people), fasting, or a fasting-mimicking diet - also known as ketogenic. This is just physiology.

@debra. There is a lot of support out here for everyone. There are a LOT of different philosophies. We joke around at times. We make comments from time to time since this is a public forum. I don’t see where anyone said anything negative but if anything is said at all the response from this small group is very militant. I have done some fasting and sugar control. I get what you guys believe in but maybe if we can let down the armour a little you can see not every comment is an attack. If not I wonder why you are on a public forum to begin with. After Cindy has left no one has made any comment beyond disagreeing with the approach. Isn’t it ok to have a difference of opinion and still support one another?

@Russell, well said, and I do believe that is what I said in my comment. The disagreement with the approach is my issue. When others post what they eat and do, I see no one telling them they are wrong, or unhealthy and or implying that they are idiots. When fasting, keto or carnivore are mentioned, we get tons of support and a whole lot of people telling us its wrong, telling us how we are supposed to be doing it, we are just tracking our food, getting support and it seems that at every turn we get criticized. I try to ignore it and take the higher road, but it just gets old after a while. Sorry if I offended, it was just my way of throwing my hands in the air and going WTF.

Agree with debbyfreds- i am vegan but that’s what i chose. I never preach from a soapbox about how everybody else is doing it wrong.

Not offended at all Debra. But to be clear you are doing it wrong because you aren’t doing it my way :-) I hope you got your goals in whatever way works for you.

I wish you all the best with your BBBexperience Erikahollister I'm hesitant to try it, plus I'm not use to just eating a lot of meat, but I see it works for a lot of people on here.

It’s an honest proposal from me. To a claim that many witnesses from the keto community. It’s a chance to find out. Put your feelings a side and you already have a group. This is research, why waste that opportunity cuz your feelings got hurt? I know I would be interested. And that’s an honest interest
