kissangelgirl's Journal, 20 Feb 23

Finally after 2 weeks of no movement either way! I'm convinced I killed my metabolism. As I restarted this journey, my caloric intake went from 3000+/- per day to under 1000. I know that's WAY too low and even though I lost a lot of water weight, it's apparent my body wanted to hold onto EVERY thing I ate in fear of not getting enough each day. So, after raising my calories and eating small meals throughout the day, omitting salt all together and cooking with water instead of oils, I'm feeling good and heading in the right direction 😁💪

Definitely have to find the sweet spot of lower calories but not so low your body is in starvation mode.

I went through something similar, just not to the extent you did. I was eating 1,000 calories a day and weightlifting 6 days a week. I couldn't seem to lose the last few lbs I wanted and come to find out, my body was hanging on to all calories in order to fuel itself. I was tired and weak all the time. I've added 300 cals a day and more carbs for fuel and feel 100% better! It's all about tailoring your journey to what your body responds to. Glad you are figuring yours out!💪

I am eating between 1700 to 1900 on maintenance & I've continued to lose a lb. here & there very slowly. Angel, I would think you could lose eating 1400-1500 calories. You might have to reduce it as you get to a lower weight. I'm working out 3 days a week so I know I burn a few extra calories. Diana, I know your workouts are more intense than mine. It's no wonder you weren't doing well on such a low calorie intake.
