Fritzy 22's Journal, 18 Jan 23

I finally managed to get outside for a much needed walk - both for me and for Bobby! It's cloudy, but rain is not expected until tonight and should be brief and then there is no rain in the forecast for at least the next week. It's cold outside but it's refreshing to be outside in the fresh air. For some reason I was really tired the previous 2 or 3 days so didn't accomplish anything.

I am running to the market more to make sure I have some fresh fruit or vegetables in the house. I feel lucky when there are pineapple spears in the store - you never know what to expect any more. Can't count on everything on your shopping list to be on the shelves. Eggs are $7.99 a dozen which means I really need to use the eggs I bought. I don't have them often but at that price I need to.

Yeah I was pretty tired too for a couple of days. Weather maybe? Bought eggs the other day, 5 dozen and they were only $17!

I heard the egg prices were due to having to kill thousands of chickens with the flu. Hard to realize a virus can be so deadly to us and to animals. It's good you can get out and walk .... the weather is behaving for a change.

I paid $9 this past weekend. Killer me. I will say they are gorgeous eggs.

I'm glad you were able to get out for a much-needed walk Fritzy22, as for the eggs that's a lot.

Killed me. I’d never admit to my crimes in writing.

Wow! $5.89 for eggs here, and that's delivered, so I know they're cheaper in store. Glad the weather has finally eased up and you're able to get out. Stay safe!

We love eggs and eat them every day. These prices are killing us!

Daddy - $17 for 5 dozen eggs! Great deal! Thanks Mom2Boxers - there are signs posted by the eggs in the grocery store that the prices are due to the bird flu.

Thanks Kat - at least the eggs were gorgeous! They should be at that price!

Thanks Buenita - the walk was nice, I was able to do a loop I haven't done in weeks. And then to Bobby's delighted surprise I took him for a 2nd walk around noon. Wanted to do at least another 1000 steps. I am boiling eggs now for egg salad. At the price I had to pay I have to make sure I use them!

Thanks Shir! California always seems to have the highest prices for everything. Thanks Morticia - there really isn't a substitute for eggs, is there? I feel sorry for bakeries and the restaurants that specialize in breakfast!
