abbadabba's Journal, 30 Jun 11

Ahh, love! Isn't it what makes the world go 'round? And sometimes it is fleeting and uncertain.

Still eating as well as I can, what with being wined and dined by my new boyfriend. Haven't weighed in lately, because I just have too much other stuff going on to care.

Realized today that what I have in common with my new boyfriend is that we both want to be loved and we both are at the edge of huge changes in our lives: he is moving, he is starting a new job, he is trying to get custody of his children. I am also probably moving, also starting a new job, and I am losing custody of my children through their growing up and naturally leaving home.

But what I realize is certain is this: it IS better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Because being unloved is really, really hard.

Hope your Thursday is going well and hope your barbecue schedule over the weekend is manageable!

You are so right. Real love is rare and when we find it we have to cherish it and hang on to it. So glad you have found it and hoping this will all work out wonderfully for you.

I am so happy you have found someone to share your days and nights with. Love is a most wonderful blessing and I wish you many years of this blessing and dozens of others!

I would have to agree ... even with loss I do believe it is better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all. Life is so uncertain, constantly changing and we MUST cherish what we have when we have it!!! Who knows what the future holds Abba ... enjoy these moments!!!

Miss you too Abba! Need and love my FS buddies and am very glad to be here! So happy for you Abba! :) Love is a beautiful mystery. Read last night in Oprah mag that a relationship is more than a romance--its a spiritual partnership (1988, Harville Hendrix, PhD). So true isn't it?! :))
