BuffyBear's Journal, 27 Jun 11

Stressful day yesterday and today - long story involving stepdaughter, grandkids, work, sick dog, etc. Ended up eating my lunch for breakfast, had to run to the Dollar Store to buy art supplies for kids because I had to keep them a couple of hours at work today. While at store I remembered I didn't have anything for lunch so grabbed a bag of pork rinds. Forgot how horrible they were (to each his own) and my tummy felt like crap the rest of the afternoon.

Anyway, everything is quiet now. I tried to make things up to my tummy by eating an extra helping of fresh green beans and summer squash right out of the garden. Tomorrow is a new day.

Nicole - They just tore up my stomach. I know better - I've seen them made. There is a bath tub sized fryer of discolored grease used over and over again - you know is is super heated into trans fats - just what my LDL needed.

Hey Buffy, sorry to hear you had such a crappy day, & a crappy tummy too! Tomorrow is a new day, for a new you! Your garden goodies sound yummy for your tummy (mine too - LOL). I have to confess, I have never had pork rinds, but I did buy some to try if ever I am having I gotta have something crunchy kind of snack. After reading this, maybe I will reconsider & toss em!

Gosh Buffy, that's too bad. I can't say I've ever tried pork skins/rinds, but they just don't appeal to me at all. On the other hand, I'm sure that was about the only reasonable alternative at the Dollar Store. Love the various finds at the Dollar Store, but there are slim pickin's for finding anything Atkins-friendly. Hope your tummy has recovered!
