Fritzy 22's Journal, 19 Oct 22

I am going to try to do a 24 hour (at least) liquid fast. So coffee is okay, then I'll drink water. I'm tired of losing a couple of pounds and then going back up again even though I haven't changed what I am eating.

I'm starting to write down my daily steps. I have a chart where I write the times I give Marco his insulin shots (I used to forget whether I gave him a shot) so I'll have another notebook next to it with my steps on it. I'm figuring out I get in about 1000 steps quickly after getting up just by feeding the cats and Bobby and then the porch kitty and then getting the insuling shot for Marco, then going out sprinkle bird seed on the deck rails. After that I need to work on it. Not many steps ironing (so I skipped ironing the sheets this week) and vacuuming so a morning walk is really needed.

Yesterday I stir fried brussels sprouts, mushrooms and onions. Got hungry around 7pm so I had a toaster strudel - I forgot I had them in the freezer, something the house sitter didn't eat.

Still no bucks around my house but I do keep seeing the doe with her 2 babies. There may actually be 2 does, one has 1 fawn and one has 2. I know bucks and does don't hang out together. Bucks are often in groups of 2, 3, 4 or more but does are either alone or with one other doe.

Loved the picture. Most of our bucks are single unless they are young ones. We have large groups of does often with babies.

I love your photo. Thanks for sharing. Do you fast often?

Thanks Liv - it's so nice that you are back. I miss your positive and supportive comments and posts. We do get bear here, but I've never seen one. Thanks Morticia - I did see one buck today on my walk at the end of my street. Drove around the neighborhood after going to the market and saw quite a few does and fawns but no bucks. Funny how different deer can be in different areas. In my neighborhood the deer don't have to worry about hunting as long as they stay inside the gates. Maybe that's why several bucks stay together. Thanks 2melons. I don't fast often, just once in awhile when I want the scale to show a lower number. Sometimes I'll fast a day or so before a doctor appointment. I don't do a true fast. I just do liquids only. I've had coffee today and a glass of milk as well as water.

Note: it is mating season, I think they call it rutting for the deer. Although I would think the bucks would be near the does.

Diana - I've 72 hour fasts 2 or 3 times. But I cheat because I'' have anything liquid. Maybe I should just go with the clear liquids like they allow you before a colonoscopy! The picture is 2 or 3 years old after I had an oak tree cut down. All the deer came to check it out. They love eating oak leaves. I often seeing them standing on their back legs to reach an oak branch. Thanks Sidnay - I think I'm more like Doctor DooLittle, talking to the animals. I do greet them by name. All the boys are Buck and the girls are Mama.

Sounds like you have a great plan going on with a good routine. Enjoy the strudels. I remember your house sitter not eating them. Love your photo!:)

Thanks Navy - I do like the strudels but probably won't buy more now that I know the housesitter won't eat them.. Thanks Bran and Navy - the deer are nosey. They had to come over and see what they could find to eat from the oak tree.
