My little garden is hanging tough, even with the fire smoke still here for nearly a month.

Thank you Eva, sk17, Sherry and Monica! I call it my No Deer No Bunnies garden. 😁 High fencing for the deer and wire buried under the dirt for the rabbits. If something doesn't thrive in here, I let it go. I don't what to be pampering any plants. So far they seem to be happy. Next up to bloom will be Crepe Myrtle and the Hollyhocks. 😊

I see Having a safe garden for your plants needs its work. As an urbanite to the core, that is a new, interesting finding for me. 😆

it should be fine. we had all that toxic smoke from the ship fire and it really didn't affect the plants

Lovely! And thank you so very much for the idea. I've been wracking my poor brain for a base for a dollhouse. I have an iron base the right size and the whole birdhouse concept is PERFECT! Ticks all the boxes. Never had one growing up and always wanted one. I'm 60 now and have given myself permission to go for it. I actually already have most of the materials for the project. Whoot whoot. You made an old woman very happy. Thank you again

Eva, there's smaller gauged wire at the base of the fencing, that not even the quail can get in. I wouldn't mind the quail, but the cottontails would destroy my garden.

Petra, thank you! Yes, we love our screened porch. This is were we have coffee in the morning. Our guests enjoy it too. A comfy peaceful spot. 💕

Thank you Erquiaga. I do enjoy working in my little garden. It really gives out more than I put in. 💕

Thank you for the reassurance Kat.👍 I was about ready to rent some giant warehouse fans and set them up around my garden. 😉😁 Seriously though, I was wondering if they were being choked out in some way.

Anne, I am soon to be 62, so this is one old lady, happy to make another old lady happy. 😁 Your idea sounds fabulous! I had thought about building miniature houses, that I would design in my head, years ago, in the middle of the night, when I couldn't sleep. I hope you share a photo of your dollhouse when you're finished. 👍💕

I love pretty birdcages and dollhouses. Your photo caused something to click and I realized I CAN have both. I have the skillset so that's not a worry, I have 90% of what I need to actually DO this. My image of this is a combination of your birdcage mixed with the Fairy house from "Fairy Tale", furnished in Practical Magic lol. I even have a spot for it. My mother wouldn't let me have a toy box. Nothing special for the girl. HA!

Beautiful!! Especially love your clematis covered bird cage! I love gardening myself but haven't had time lately due to amount of time I'm investing in adjusting to a Keto diet for 1st time ever (researching recipes, shopping ingredients, measuring, meal planning, prepping, counting cal/carb/fat/protein, & tracking! So much more work than I anticipated. I started 3 weeks ago but lost 10 lb so far so, I guess it's been worth it. However, I miss gardening & want to get back to it. I plan to shop for tomato plants today, since I waited too long to start from seed. I also need to get out and feed my roses and plants and prune all my roses. your photos have inspired me!

You have such a lovely garden. I think I've been over watering mine, and something is eating my hosta. I've cut back on the watering and got something for the bugs, hope I'm not too late. Wish I had your green thumb. Screened porch is perfect.

Thank you billih35. I hope the keto diet works for you and you're able to get a routine down where you have enough time to get in some gardening. 😊👍

Thank you Shir. 💕 Hostas are so lovely! I have toyed with the idea of trying them, but they would take some pampering in my area. Shir, I don't think I really have a green thumb. I've simply planted some non-fussy plants and ignore them for the most part. 😁 I hope you get rid of those pesky bugs and your hostas are thriving once again. 👍
