Fritzy 22's Journal, 12 Mar 22

It's almost 6am and I'm ready to plan my food journal. I thought I was done eating early yesterday but was hungry around 7:30 last evening so had another protein snack bar. My plan when I ordered the shakes and bars was that I would have 2 of each every day for a week and get 60 grams of protein in easily. But then I read what Diana wrote about having too much whey protein every day. I don't want that to happen to me. Yesterday it was one shake and 2 bars. The website has some snacks that use pea protein. I remember buying some hickory flavored chips a few years ago with 10 protein grams and they weren't bad. Today I am cooking some chicken breast in the oven with barbecue sauce. Should be enough for today and tomorrow. I need to weigh the chicken before cooking.

We lose an hour overnight. At least I am retired so it doesn't really matter. I'm hoping my cats can't actually tell time. They all sit on my bed starting around 4:30am staring at me until I wake up and feed them.

Hope your day goes well. i think it is good idea to mix up your protein sources some. Chicken is a good source for sure. Eggwhites if you care for them could be could as well. Smiling picturing your waiting cats.

Thanks Liv - I've had these protein products before and they've never bothered me. They really help me get enough protein. I made the chicken this morning, in a pryex dish with barbecue sauce and I covered the dish with tin foil. I couldn't eat just the egg white, I could eat just egg yolks! I eat the whole egg, but limit them to 2 to 4 a week because of the cholesterol. My doctor always tells me people can get enough protein from plants. Unless he gives me a list of what he eats I really can't believe it. He's probably not even 140 pounds and he's vegan. He tells me I don't have to worry so much about protein since I am not going out and chopping down trees! You should see the cats. I sleep on the right side of the bed. I woke up at 5am the other day and Tony was next to my head staring at me, Marco was down by my waist also staring and Fritzy was by my feet. As soon as I moved a foot the dog was on the floor running around in circles which got the cats all excited so they got off the bed and starting meowing like crazy. I had no choice but to get up and feed them.
