Annabelle3117's Journal, 16 Sep 14

Good morning everyone! Having a rough time with the kiddo this morning. His big sister won't be riding the bus home with him tonight because she has choir practice, so therefore he doesn't want to go. I was tempted to pick him up after school, but I can't realistically do that every Tuesday. He will have to get used to riding the bus alone sooner or later, might as well be sooner. It's the same driver and all the same people as every other day of the week, he will survive.

Won another junk food battle last night. We had to go to the mall so my husband and son could get fitted for tuxes for my BIL's wedding. By the time we were headed home it was late and everybody wanted to stop for a hot and ready pizza. Ugh. At this point I was hangry because I hadn't eaten since lunch, and now the pizza temptation... I managed to say no to the pizza and had some eggs instead. It wasn't easy but I survived. The fresh reminder of the impending wedding helped. I'm going to have to dress nice if my husband is going to be wearing a tux! Sucks though because he will be sitting with the wedding party and I will be entirely alone... my in laws don't like me much. Good times.

I procrastinated on the gym, again! I need to break that nasty habit. Today I really am going, for real. I always seems to be able to come up with plenty of reasons why I shouldn't lol. Homework, housework, etc.

I bought some new greens for my green smoothie. It's spinach with power greens, at least that's what it's called. (spinach, bok choy, and some other ones I don't remember) Comes bagged already washed and ready to use. From there I bag it into ziplock bags and toss them in the freezer. Then when it's smoothie time I just crunch them up and put them in the blender, works amazingly well. Blueberries are the fruit of the week, as they were the only 'berry' I could find in the frozen fruit section. I try to stick with berries as they are lower in carbs than most other fruits. I might add a banana though, we will see how it tastes before. My morning smoothie is kind of the only fruit I get for the day, but it's a hell of a lot more than I was getting before. And it should equal out to 2-3 servings so I guess it's all I need.

Well I would love to stay here journaling to you guys but I have to go live this crazy life. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods! Have a great day!!

Good on you for passing on the pizza; they had that at the trade show Sunday and my table was directly in front of it so not only did I have to say 'no' to the offer I had to SMELL it ... but if you SMell it long enough w/o eating it.. it actually starts to smell gross. So that's an interesting discovery. I've been doing the smoothies with spinach; I saw the 'greens, kale, spinach' mix last night but skipped it this week and I'm doing apple, pineapple and banana in mine so thats my fruit servings daily too. At the trade show the person next to me asked if I was drinking guacamole. Cute, huh :0)

Interesting that you challenged by the pizza - I think there's something in the air. I had pizza on Friday night for the first time since Feb, though I did mostly eat the Caesar salad I got for me. I felt yucky on Sat morning, but that didn't stop me from having a leftover piece on Sat or Sun. and THEN I went to the Big E (huge fair of the New England states) last night and I got a single slice from the CT building. I keep telling myself that I need to cut that out and it seems that every day of the last 4 days that pizza carb has snuck through my defenses. I am on track today with my breakfast and lunch prepared. I have a business dinner meeting tonight so I am giving myself a pep talk on how to manage that without faltering yet again this week. Thanks for sharing your struggle - always helps me to know I am not alone. Good luck with the kiddo - they will never remember any of this although we will.

You did really great. Tip to ward off hunger, 1 Tablespoon of Virgin Coconut Oil in your smoothie, tea or coffee.

You are a strong woman to pass on pizza! I don't know if I have that kind of strength right now, maybe someday. :) Your smoothies are encouraging me to want to try the green smoothie, since my fruit and veggies have been lacking lately, but I have to get a new blender first. Get your booty to the gym today and the homework and housework will be there when you get done. :)

Drinking guacamole, lol!! That would be so gross, but I do love some avocado! Thank you all for the compliments on passing on the pizza, one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life lol. And Mars I just got back from the gym! Woohoo, sweated my butt right off. Hopefully all this extra effort will reflect on the scale Friday!

You did great with the pizza. Used to be one of my main trigger foods. I don't know about now because I have been avoiding the temptation so long. Good for you getting back to the gym! You are awesome! Whenever I feel like giving up I look at your before and after pics. Now that is motivation even to someone older than you! Thank you for posting them!

That's not very nice from your in laws and your husband to leave you alone, he should always take your side. Some men think it's just easier to go with the flow. I hope you still will have a good time at the wedding.

That's nice salad blend and a good idea to freeze the fresh ones for blending. I hope your son was ok today on the bus. Hopefully he will get used to the routine soon. Have a good evening.

Good , for you, you won the battle over the temptation, I noticed that a lot of the pizza places are advertising a gluten free crust, so don't forget if they make that gluten free crust, because they might forget to mention it.
