BuffyBear's Journal, 14 Mar 11

Thanks to dinner at my sister-in-law's last night I ended up with over 2,000 cals and 85 carbs yesterday. She served ribs covered in sticky sweet B-B-Q sauce and, no, I did not behave myself. Fortunately, I didn't gain any weight. Now I have all week to repent.

That's the spirit Buffy - you went, you ate, you returned, you're back on track - no need to beat yourself up :)

Ugggh... Does she know you're doing the low carb thing? You'd think she could have taken the initiative to ask you what you could/could not eat - or shared with you her menu plan so you could give her a couple of pointers about what would be ok for you. I wonder why she couldn't have simply grilled up a couple of ribs for you plain, not covered in all that sticky, gooey goodness? I am so happy for you that you have not gained as a result; don't be surprised if you are stalled a bit this week. It takes four days for the sugars/carbs you ate to leave your body - and it could take a bit longer for you to get back into ketosis where your body is burning fat again. You hang in there. We live and learn -- we just never give up. :)

Evie - I take full responsibility for my actions. Now I get to pay for it with another week of weight stall. But you are right - I am usually one not to make a fuss. The summer will be full of cook - outs and I do need to learn to be more vocal about things that directly affect my health.

Hi Buffy, its hard when not everyone is on the same page as you. And I think maybe some people are just into them selves. (Know what I mean)? I am sooo looking forward to the cook outs at my home as we grill almost everything. I love yellow squash and corn on the cob done this way. Have a great day girl......Bren

We all need a break now and then, I sure hope you at least enjoyed yours. You know what to do now (next journal entry) and no more WIMP. I had to practice what to tell people over and over until I could actually do it.
