Draglist's Journal, 13 Jul 14

Ate a crazy 4800 plus calories yesterday but had a great time. Ate nearly 3000 today, too. Happy birthday to my wife Denise, who stuck closer to her numbers on both days. Did not exercise over the past two days either. Actually hit 217.6 lbs. on an afternoon weigh in. Yikes! Will do a 16:8 fast followed by a five mile walk tomorrow. Tomorrow is my official weigh in day (every three days, minimum), so it could be ugly. But vacation is over on Tuesday, and we will begin hammering 1400-1500 calories per day on Wednesday to get back on track.

Is Denise watching calories too? I thought she looked like she had lost on her FB photo but didn't want to say, we women are so sensitive about our weight. She looked really good. And I'm sure you're a bit worried about your weigh in. But I love your attitude. You are living life to the full when it presents itself, and when quiet time returns you get right back down to business. I think that is a very healthy attitude. Sure, it would be wonderful if we didn't have the ups and downs of weight, but it is very difficult to celebrate life's great occasions and celebrations and not indulge. Happy you seem to have found your prescription.

Glad you're enjoying your vacation, that's what it's all about. It's amazing how quickly our bodies can put on pounds, even though so much of the quick weight gain is water. It should also drop off pretty quickly. I didn't know your wife was watching numbers/calories also, that's cool. Nice to be doing it together.

Life (eating) will get back to normal after vacation - enjoy the last couple of days. I'm coming off a bad week myself topped by an additional day of pigging out yesterday. I think I'm trying to subconsciously sabotage my health screen next week - lol.
