So... ya’all know me and I’ve gotta be honest here. I ate half the chimichanga and about half the rice with two bites of salad (pico was too spicy). I ate a tiny bit of salsa and white cheese that turned out to be white American rather than a Mexican cheese. However... I ate the entire yellow cheese and have no idea how to log it lol. I also only had about half a dozen chips left in the basket when I was finished. To compensate I only ate half a steak for dinner. Still kinda full from lunch anyway lol.

You weigh 121 and you can eat all that? Wow. Please tell me you're a normal human and you only ate half. Or that you need deworming. Please! 😂

Lol I posted the same time you did! Yes I ate about half and was stuffed!! I try to eat only half my restaurant meals as part of my maintenance diet.

And I think the 121 is a fluke. I normally stay right around 123-125. Haven’t felt good (I think the antibiotics are finally catching up to me or stress) so it’s been easy to have a fasting day and to skip meals or eat lightly here and there.

I always add 500 calories to whatever I guess-timate a restaurant meal to be. In all likelihood they added a ton of butter/oil to it during the cooking process.

JustBananas I logged a whole chimichanga just to make sure. I know it wasn’t the 1400 kcal one on here but I don’t think it’s the 400 kcal one either. I’d guess about 600-800 without the oil they lightly fried it in. But I ate half so I’m hoping it will be close to accurate. At this point I’m trying to not worry about accuracy as much as I used to and rather just have an idea and watch how my body reacts. Meals like this are hard because I hold water with sodium and tortillas. So in a few days if I’m up I know it’s more calories than I thought and if I’m back down on the scale then I know it was close enough. I also don’t log my tic tacs or gum but occasionally I’ll log a whole big pack of tic tacs just because I know it evens out that way for me. I’m also lucky in that I can usually go over about 3000 a month and maintain. But that’s when I’m in the gym and I can’t work out for another 6-8 months 😢. So I’m experimenting right now lol. AND I’ve started more fasting when I’m not really hungry anyway. Those lower calorie days mean more meals like this 😀.

I love this food but it's funny knowing they get all of these meals from the same distributor and then microwave it. It all looks the same no matter how many Mexican restaurants we try. "Hot plate!" We do have a really authentic place about an hour away.

Isn't that so true? There's this tiny place near us that everyone loves, all they do is deep fry frozen stuff. Seen the guy at Costco picking up food. That said, their salsa is bomb, so more power to them. I do know the places that make their own and that's where I go.

What a shame. My parents are locked into the whole Tex-Mex thing. I am more Aztec-Mexican food.

Supposedly they make the chimichangas by hand. There wasn’t much meat in them and the cheese wasn’t melted so who knows. Our usual place does make them there. I know because they went to a much smaller tortilla and no two look the same lol. When we had an El Chico’s a waitress told us they are frozen and heated up there. Wish I could figure out the distributors for them because I’d order a couple dozen chicken fajita chimichangas for sure!

Chimichangas, quesadillas and tacos are my favorite meals. I often think I should’ve been born Mexican or something but rice isn’t my fav and I hate any and all beans and onions so... not really fond of peppers either. Just meat, cheese and shells/tortillas haha.
