Welcome to Wow: Walk on Wednesdays! Online walking group for any FSers who wish to share their walking and fitness experiences. I have set up a Group here (seems to be available only on desktop/laptops) but for those only on the app, I will post weekly here on the main page, too!

Here is the general guidelines, as shown on the Group home page:

1. Pick your route and location. Will you walk outdoors only? Or use a treadmill and/or a walking video? Do you have a backup plan for rainy/cold days?

2. Set your goals. Choose what you will do consistently: daily or weekly or monthly goals?

3. Share your week with us! Please post below :)

4. Encourage and support your fellow walkers! Comment!

5. Celebrate ALL successes!

Trying to walk daily, even if it is a short walk. Some days it is raining and it feels like I have 30 lb weights on my legs! I have tried to break down my goals weekly and then monthly. I always feel better afterwards, even if not perfect. So far everyday since Sunday!

Yes, consistency is key. I have many joint issues that do cause a lot of pain and give me really good excuses not to walk but I know when I do actually get out there, the pain subsides a little. Day by day.

Hi Luna, I have issues with joints in my feet too. I also ruptured my Achilles Tendon last summer and it is still healing. So, my walks are not that fast but I can go for more than an hour, easily. I like to observe nature, listen to the birds, and I usually take my binoculars with me. I may substitute a bike ride sometimes and morph this to Work Out Wednesday. Biking is easier on my feet. I need to think about what my goals would be. I'm supposed to do AT exercises but I am SO NOT motivated by them. I can't measure the improvement and I don't know how to make myself do them. I will enter my goals over on the WOW Group page once I've decided on the first ones.

@Celticbutterfly - you can post here or on the official Group page (sent you an invitation). If you are an App Only user, groups don't seem to appear on the app (that I could see on free version), you can share your progress here on this weekly page :)

I like the Work Out Wednesdays, too! which it might be once the snow flies again LOL "Walking" can be any cardio exercise you plan on doing consistently. I want to be outside as much as possible this summer cos I need to shift this weight off asap!

I have been working on getting in 5 miles per day. I do both outdoor and treadmill. I am only on the app but would be interested in seeing everyone’s progress in a group 😊

yesterday i did 12136 steps. a little upset i am gaining and not losing, but....sure it will even out in a few days....

today to finish my challenge on samsung health, i went a bit overboard with the steps. I really did! did 26202 steps. BTW, out of 6 people, i came in 4th. tomorrow going to do just a few....relaing now!!

Inspiring walks lamapa515! I did 10,000 steps the past few days but today am being kind to myself with only 3000 steps. My body really needed time to unwind from a stressful work week. if you raise your heart rate in a very hot bath does that count as a cardio workout?! 😃

I am retired and live alone. I find since the pandemic began daily walks help lift my spirits. Plus it gives me something to do...

I almost talked myself out of any cardio today but did a 20 minute walking workout video - thinking that if Lamapa is out there walking, I'd better move my butt, too! :)

So grateful for this WOW group. I have met many of my weight loss goals and am now in the last 5 pounds. My specialists have told me to loss to my newest goal to help reduce pain levels. But...I am finding walking to be so good for my mind and body. I have a forest near me where I like to hike. I like hearing the birds and wind in the trees. Thanks to you guys, I am motivated to go for a walk!!!!
