Fasted 18 hours. Made easy Sunday dinner, mostly from the freezer, for my party of one. Wild-caught fish squares, cauliflower rice with veggies and collard greens slaw. It was good. My canine dining companion had chicken slices on top of her kibble.

The boys retire to their room while the girls dine.

They have broken me of a lifetime of leaving the dinner dishes in the sink. Can't leave anything out with those two!

This is my kind of from-the-freezer meal. 😋😋😋 I can overdose on frozen fish filets! 🤪 It's always better to dine with a loved one. 🐶💗

Becca, I love them too. This lady i boarded with in France used to put meals like this together. She worked full time and I learned a lot from her about how to get something fairly healthy and balanced on the table with very little fuss. She would get frozen fish fillets (unbreaded -- of course I like breaded, ha) and serve with rice and a salad once or twice a week. And we had eggs fairly often. I just remember how she was only a few years older than me but she was, like, this adult. I always think of her when I have frozen fish, and I often want rice with it, lol.

And ha ha, yes, always better dining with your loved ones, no matter how many feet they have!

France? You learned to put meals together while in France? I learned while I was in East L.A. Some consider that a foreign country also. 😉😄 Seriously, that sounds like a wonderful experience. I actually learned as I was raising our kids. Just this morning, as I was making pancakes, (they turned out so good - multigrain with added spices, almond milk and topped with sliced almonds) Joe remembered how I would make pancakes for the kids with their first name initials or happy faces. 😀

Ty, ridemariel! Becca, I wasn't there to learn how to put meals together, lol, just at an age (21) when it was dawning on me that being an adult is a lot of work! Girl, I can't imagine having one kid, let alone four! Some days it is all I can do just to look out for me and the pets. I am in awe of moms like you and kbuck and peeper. It takes a ton of work and organizing. Roommate and I often wish for an adult learning Home Ec class - - one that actually teaches how to run a household. Budgeting, planning, shopping, basic skills in cooking, sewing, home repair. I could really have used it!

Jen, 21 is the age I was when we started our family. It was work and not always fun, but I was fortunate in that I was able to stay home. The mothers who take care if a household AND work outside the home are the true heros. Then there are the single mothers, especially the ones without any support from the ex husband. My mom was one of those mothers. 💕 Thank you for the compliment. I had an awesome husband that never complained. That's why I kept him. 😁😉😄

Whatever reason you had for being in France, I am sure it was amazing. We plan on visiting Europe in the near future. I want to travel the migration route my ancestors took from Italy to France. Jie wants to visit WWII sites. We'll make that itinerary work somehow. 🥴
