Midday Friday - February 28th - I am at the trade show; safe travels, already set up my 'tables & stuff' and was even allowed to check into my room early so PJ's & Robe are already hanging in wait for me on the bathroom door. The show doesn't open for another half hour and I've already made buckets of money. I'm a happy gal.

Yesterday was an adventure for sure and lesson in 'listening to the universe'. Pushing to proceed with my plan to 'get outta Dodge a day early' despite my nervous hesitation feeling, I got my sweat on when I unloaded the display cases in the shop, first time in a long time. I just don't want to tempt the window shoppers in my absence. Then I loaded the car with everything but the kitchen sink - or so I thought. About 90 minutes outside of Dodge I realized I'd left two very important bags back at home. While I could have adapted and purchased things I needed at my destination it just seemed the Universe was sending me a message. Not sure if the message was 'trouble ahead' or 'gee, you're a distracted old bat, aren't ya..' but either summed up to: Go Home!

So I to home we returned. My grandson helped me unload the risky stuff from the car to be repacked into something more manageable carry weight wise. Dinner was the ribs from the prime roast I cooked Sunday with a fresh spinach salad. Fabulous and probably better (such an ego) than anything I'd have been able to get on the road. While I could play the 'card' for Mushy - I prefer not to, not yet.

And, I have to confess, age and being grounded the past few years has turned me a little barn sour. No where else would I be able to get a hotel room with my adjustable king bed, TV screen as big as the wall, or every other comfort. Just getting a room w/a Jacuzzi tub adds a $50 premium to a one night stay.

Additionally, I decided sitting there this morning to bring my netbook with me today making it possible to update my journal and go out and browse y'alls now until the show starts. So all in all, I saved several hundred dollars not sitting in a hotel (last night) or replacing the things I needed in the bag, all in the comfort of my own home.

The restaurant here doesn't open until 5pm; I wasn't hungry for breakfast; was feeling a little hungry earlier. Fortunately I have my old standby's -tuna, almonds and single serve peanut butter in my bag. That will hold me fine. A year ago I packed like I was going on maneuvers for this same show. Since then I've learned 'I won't starve' and to borrow the jingle 'A little dab'll do ya'. One foil pack of tuna and a bottle of water and I'm no longer hungry. Moreso, am I content.
