Flex Friday. So weight loss is very slow but I don't want to screw up by going too fast and losing muscle and strength like I did last time I cut. Back in August or so I could only bench 225 for 5 reps. Today I got 300 for 5 and 325 for 2 shortly after. I think the extra protein is helping because I've actually gotten stronger since I was 215+. I don't know why I dropped it again, I noticed an increase in strength last time I was getting a higher percentage as well. I guess my love for carbs+fat combos makes it harder to get as much lol. I'm currently at 205 pounds. My goal is to bench 2x my body weight again eventually. Last time I could do that I was 175 pounds. Funny enough, I was on a low protein diet then but age was on my side.

I think it's good to have multiple goals to distract from slower progress that will actually stick. Measurements, strength goals, etc

225 for 25 reps today. An older gym goer ran over to spot me since the last rep was grueling haha. Anyway, due to the aspect ratio in FS I had to trim the top of my traps but my fave part is my quad sweep. Upper body hasn't been an issue for years but the legs are a newish development.

My secondary gym has a record board but I just found out they have a set day where they reset them. A Halloween competition lol. Anyway, first place is 135x22. It's a body weight bench record. I just did 20 pounds OVER my body weight for 3 more reps. Hoping to improve upon that as I get leaner.

Way to go, dear! A Halloween competition? What's that mean? They are running it until Halloween? Odd date to choose. I'm perplexed by that statement. PF was all women today... then at the end of my workout it was all men and the women left. Very odd the way it worked out. And busy. I had the shitty bench in between the mirrors that has the dead space/wall.

Oh, I know which you mean. As far as the competition it's a Halloween costume "party" slash powerlifting competition. Anyway, I guess it isn't for dad bods cause my girls would be mad if I missed trick or treating or maybe they are too old now lol

Congratulations on hitting 300# then 325#, 100# more than 6 months ago!!! It is interesting your weight at 215 then 205 and how much stronger you are. Lifting 225# x 25 is AWESOMENESS in itself!

Your doing great! Don’t go to fast you cut your calories to hard and you will have no where to go once you metabolically adapt. Other then less food and you know that’s just shitty lol. Slow and steady as you already know! Keep grinding brother can’t wait to see how the cut finishes for you
