Had munchies all day - time to nip this in the bud! The Cliff Bars seemed like they'd make a nice breakfast but their sweet taste brings on cravings. Why did I even buy those things?

Heading out to the kitchen to figure out a nice meal plan for work tomorrow.

I did the south beach protein bars. Yummers and I always imagined I was eating something wicked. Didn't help that they put coupons inside the box and I could get double off. Once they cut off the double off, I quit buying them. I'm too tight.

Are you still doing Atkins? Those Cliff bars really loaded in the carbs. I went back to a three day fat fast. Lost several pounds that way last time and went into deep ketosis.http://www.carbsmart.com/fatfast.html

If I need a quickie bar as I'm running out the door I use the Odwalla Super Protein bars. 14 grams protein. But I really try to limit these as they are very calorie dense (220 calories) and high in carbs.

ClassicRocker - I think anything that tastes sweet will set me off. It is all a big mind game and I need to make up my mind that I don't need anything sweet - PERIOD.

RainShine - I was hungry in Wal-Mart and they were giving out free samples. If I had read the box I never would have bought them. You know what they say - never go shopping when you are hungry? Very true!!!

Waynem - Thanks for the tip but apparently someone on here does not have the self control to limit herself to grabbing one while running out the door. No, I need to take the whole box with me.

Wow Buffybear, I would have done the same thing! There is so many of the nutrition bars out there and most people don't have the time to read every package. I got the 2 free atkins bars but they just sit here. For some reason I never even tried one. I like the shakes though!

Me again... Buffy. Try protein when you get the sweet urge. Not the bars. A piece of meat or even a piece of cheese.

Dang munchies - I have a habit of eating a Nature Valley protein granola bar each morning for breakfast, but it is PB/choc flavored and I think it's messing with my cravings/munchies like you said.. Maybe I should give them up!
