So kids...am really struggling with food again after having been thin fairly effortlessly for decades. I could point to reasons "why" but the real reason is just engaging in self indulgence and allowing myself to be really pissed off about politics and using the pandemic as a justification to just lie around and read, sleep and eat. I am still maintaining a sort of exercise program. We work out 3 times a week and I try to walk 3.1. miles every day but my mind is focused on my resentments much of the time. A long term recovered member of AA ...prescription drug addict and part time alcoholic (yeah I know) but have been very successful for 36 years. Got into it with a member of my home group on Saturday about his comments which were mild but I felt a need to take it up and counter his comments. No one is this highly charged environment is likely to change their opinions and AA is not the venue for such exchanges anyway. So now of course I must make some sort of amends to him and our little group. We are an outside masked up group and the meeting has become very informal in terms of what we call cross talk but that is to be kept to comments about our addictions. All political comments are a violation of Tradition 10 and they lead to a break down of our sense of community. So starting over today with new resolve. On food and on keeping my big mouth shut. My husband and I do not agree politically either so that is a minor minefield. Not polar opposites. But certainly far enough apart that we both know to avoid the topic. Ok dear diary. You get it.

I do understand where you are coming from right now. No opinions on outside issues...principles before personalities. It can be hard. Regroup my friend and do the best for your health right now.
