lonniehuffman's Journal, 28 Jun 20

I spent the last 10 days at Fish Creek Reservoir in southern Idaho, and had a fantastic time! As promised, I took lots of pictures on my hikes to share with you. I had to wait until I left, because the internet signal out there was too weak to upload pictures. I wasn't even able to use FS to track my food intake. Anyway, here they are.

It's so beautiful out there that I spent most of my days just walking around taking pictures. On one occasion, I had just started my fast-paced walk when a rattlesnake appeared to help me get my heart rate up to speed. It scared the 💩 outta me, but once I hollered and put some distance between us, I couldn't resist stopping to take a picture. On the last evening of my visit, Mother Nature treated me to an awesome sunset.

Enjoy the pictures! Pictures from my next adventure coming soon! 😃

Beautiful, stunning, scary, handsome, peaceful, open, colorful, vista, wonderfully isolated... Literally dozens of adjectives could be used to describe your amazing photos! Thank you again for sharing. I can't Believe you got that snake picture. I'd be shaking so badly it would be totally blurry... Actually, I'd be so far away even zoom wouldn't work! Enjoy your next adventure and record some of it for us so we can at least dream of being there!

great pics man and again with the distinguished man pics. I'm hoping to do something like this with my family even if just for a few days. things are close to breaking loose for us. thank you for sharing. beautiful pictures. that's so difficult for me to get good pics. I'm like Barney rubble when he always got his fingers in the shots.

Thank you, shir! I'm so glad my pictures make you smile. I'll just have to keep posting them for you then. Snakes are fascinating, aren't they? They're best appreciated at a distance though. 😆

I nearly stepped on that snake, newname! I must have jumped 10 feet when I saw it. It was acting so aggressively, it was really terrifying! I didn't take the picture until I was at a safe distance well outside of its strike zone.

Thank you, Barney .. I mean, busjwanie! You flatter me. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. I'm glad you're teaching your kids to appreciate nature. It's a shame, I think, that there are fewer and fewer unspoiled places in the world. If there were more people that appreciated it, maybe we could preserve what's left for your kid's kids.

Oh Lonnie! I can't wait to follow in your footsteps! Absolutely stunning! I'm starting to pack and get 5th wheel ready for our departure on Thurs. I'm so excited! Traveling is in my veins! Looks like a great time except for rattlesnake! Yikes! 💜

Believe it or not, Diana, I even enjoyed seeing the rattlesnake, once I got away from it unscathed. It sure made for a little excitement. As aggressive and scary as it was, I really don't think it wanted to hurt me, because I was definitely close enough to it before I saw it that it could have struck me if it wanted to. It never struck at me though. Of course I heeded all its warnings and gave it plenty of space. I'm glad I got to see it, and take its picture. Now that I've seen one though, I'm good if I never see another.
