This is a small cave up where my Ranch is. These are prehistoric petroglyphs. They look like little kids scribbling. They are monitored by the State of California for co diction. So many up in theSequoias. This particular one is up among some massive boulders, right out in the open. They have never been tagged or defaces in any way. That alone amazes me.

Mountain man—the 750 acres that my Ranch sits on was originally sacred Indian land and has been habituated by Indians always. The land was taken from the Indians by the Federal government during the early years of the depression and a WPA logging town was built on the site. Consequently there are prehistoric grave sites, caves, and artifacts everywhere. There are many dream catchers way up high in the trees which is testament to how long they have been there. The federal government turned the entire 750 acres over to the state and about 24 years ago a group of us from the Sierra Club bought the entire town and turned it I to a place for us. There are 90 cabins of all different sizes, a saloon, a jail, a place to store RVs and we put in an Olympic swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts. We NEVER rent them out. We can go whenever we like and bring guests but we have to be there with our guests. The most incredible thing I have ever been involved in.

We have 100 horses on the Ranch and the Ranch itself is just off the Kern River with class IV and V rapids in a good snow pack year. As the years went on I wondered w.hat I would do with my ownership when the time came that it was less doable. I can go up and do all the things I have always done but few of my friends can. So many have diabesity, heart problems, the usual. So w.hen I hiked I began carrying a shotgun. No fun. We have big bear and mountain lions and zero communication ability. Any way, two years ago I met a early 30s guy with 4 little kids who was a visitor of another owner. He loved the Ranch but was in no position to buy a resale ownership. Long story short, I gave him my ownership and all the stuff that it takes to do it. Best thing I ever did. He sends me pictures of the kids all the time and always invites me up. Now I just find an air BB cabin and go and enjoy once in a while.

This is so cool. Just the thought of someone defacing that is disturbing enough. It’s just so hard to imagine finding something like that!

Hello and thanks for welcoming me. I’m not certain how to completely use this app yet. I can’t even figure out how to place a picture of myself on here instead of a darn green bean. I was truly confused as if this is used as more of a FB type thing or as a support group type thing. I guess I have found both as I scroll through. I read you’re a retired nurse and see you are at a healthy weight. I’m a nurse as well. But, not a healthy weight. My facility actually has four positive cases of COVID 19 at this time so I sure understand the long hours and fear in nursing. I live in PA. Married with three children. Thanks again for explaining things and welcoming me. I’m looking for new ideas , recipes and support etc. I do love that it tracks my calories , water and weight. Very helpful. Have a great holiday weekend. I see this picture is from June but very cool. 😊

Moline—FS is a less than perfect app. I am stuck using two different versions of FS. I can only post pictures or change my profile by going to Google and entering FatSecret default. For the rest of what I do I use the version that loads as an app. From my iPad. Even the administrators apparently don’t know what the problem is.. a lot depends on if you are working from a phone, computer, tablet. There are “tutorials” on the internet but there are so many of them also. Don’t get hung up on the FS food items and exercise values being accurate. They aren’t. Accept them as a guideline only. Everything in the database has been entered by users and thus highly subject to error or wishful thinking.
