FullaBella's Journal, 07 May 20

So - let me save your finger pounding or swiping or voice to text dictation and get this outta the way up front: "This is not necessarily food, exercise, or weight related." All better now?

I was wondering, if you want to share, what, if anything, have you had to do without in the past six weeks that you may not resume in the future? For me, I'm thinking about manicures. I'm not sure if forever. I'm just not in a hurry to rush back to it even when they do reopen.

AND ... just to keep it food & weight related ... at the recognition that my 3 to 5 pound bounce had moved into an 8lb gain that wasn't bouncing back off, I recognized that the snacky snacks had to go. So that's one six week habit I had to break.

Your turn.

I've had the luxury of doing without a bra or shoes most days for the past 7 weeks. I do NOT look forward to returning to corporate on the 18th. If we're strictly relating to food or weight, it's amazing to me how snack "food" has been so readily available in all of this, while real food is being hoarded and not.

Nodding - yep, putting the bra and the shoes back on at the same time... feels weird to say the least. I wondered the same when the fridge of frozen creme pies was completely full at the grocer. My only conclusion to 'that' was people had limited income due to being ordered to remain home & were grabbing 'essentials' ~~ ?? I noticed the frozen corn dogs shelves were bare.

Same Liv - I thought it was Wednesday ... that gif is as much for me as for anyone else.

I have had to do without all the time just window shopping and bargain hunting for things I do not need but purchased just because they were a deal breaker. I hope not to go back to spending time that way. I have also likely put on a few lbs but avoiding the bathroom scale. Stay safe and be healthy!

I've gone without a pedicure and I'm not sure I'm gonna run out to get one. My brows on the other hand are EGADS.

C3 - I understand. I stopped in a Bucky's (travel restaurant/shop) last week & a woman had her arms FULL of stuff (and that store is not cost efficient) and I heard her say, "It's been so long since I got to buy anything!" ... I have heard this from a lot of 'retail therapy' folks.

Bella, I enjoy your posts just the way they are.

Tata - I've been home plucking - trying to be careful & not go overboard. When I feel myself trying to be an over achiever I go trim the roses. They look a little bare but at least I still have my brows. 😂😂

Shoes. The only time I put shoes on now is to run to the store for groceries and that’s not very often .... I’ve even gotten rid of a lot of shoes.... other thing I don’t miss is eating meat every evening still have lots of beef in freezer But decided to have more soups and salads. When this is over I hope to be a few lbs. lighter and not miss my shoes.... life will be different....

Arkie - good one. I've wondered if we'll see a lot more 'natural' hair color now .. as people have gone from the stress of not being 'able' to do it and moved to the 'ya know.. this isn't that deadly...' acceptance. That's how I am with my (lack of) manicure. I have short stubby fingers but .. they work.

Char - yeah, the shoes... my feet were swollen yesterday and I'm convinced it was from wearing shoes (even tho sandals) all day. I've had many salads, soups & bowls of beans... I'm going to move back to more low carb for a while to help wean off the processed starches cravings so I can find my overall cico balance again.

Tata - thank you. I appreciate that.

The only time I put on a bra whether in the past 6 weeks or prior was when I would go to work or out in public. Since I no longer work or go out in public I am afraid they may have gotten just a bit more saggy. LOL

Definitely enjoying the "no bra look". Future me will need less bra time. Online shopping needs more control parameters though. Miss hugs from my family and, of course, the visits. Not wearing shoes is great.

I have never had a manicure or a pedicure, not that I never wanted to try one. It's just not something my mom took us to do (and she didn't ever have one until we were all grown, either). I've grown to appreciate it, though, because I frequently get compliments on how healthy my nails look. I had no idea until I was out of highschool that people got manicures on a regular basis 😆. I think they are very pretty though. Something I won't return to, I probably won't return to eating out so much. I would eat healthy things when I did eat out, but staying home has helped me figure out some healthy options at home that are quicker to throw together than going to grab something out.

Haircuts, rescheduled three times so far, guessing at least one more. I have to plan shopping better, not randomly running out for stuff at all. I miss hanging out with friends on weekends and I miss BF most of all. I don’t miss pants. I’ve quit wearing any makeup except sunscreen and lip balm, not that I did much before, but meh.
