Day 34
Today was a decent day - ate well, got a new cleaning lady, paid some bills. Moved some things around and did some homework for a class that I am taking. Had dinner at my favorite diner.
Went on a coffee date - I did not click with the person - he did not ask me one question about myself at all. Almost an hour! He was nice - talked about taking his mom on a trip, but I don't feel like I made any difference for showing up at the date. Talked 20 minutes about his favorite coffee and did not ask me about mine. Also, he did not like sushi. Ok, not usually a deal breaker but I think it was the overall attitude towards food in the description of his attitude toward sushi.
I have a lot to do these days - the historical society is getting busy, my house needs work and the carpenter will come Monday (I think - that is what he said). My cleaning lady will come Monday too.
Work has changed - a little good, a little bad - we will be working 4 nights a week not 5, but then we will have to work 10 hours at a stretch not 8. Only another month I think.
Another stress in my life: one up, one down. UP - My boss is arranging for a promotional ad to be placed and wanted to make sure that he included all the things I can do, so he has me in mind to apply, anyway. DOWN - one of my coworkers who I have worked with for over 20 years decided to make a pass at me. What in the world? He was one of the Happily Married ones! Yuck. Now I am glad I am on nights - I hate when these things happen. People get weird ideas sometimes.
I am grateful for beautiful fall days. For hired help. For having too much. For being in a position to get the help that I need. For having a comfy bed to get into. Night night!
