Sister was diverted from the original desert destination to a hospital out by Palm Springs. They are re testing her for CV19 and treating an infection she has developed. They also have a NO VISITOR POLICY in place. Another day. SOCIAL DISTANCING FOLKS— this is not a drill. People think that they can still associate with family members who do not live in their home because, well— they are family. That is totally not the case. The high death rate in Chicago has been attributed to two family gatherings. One a wedding and the other a funeral. So many of those two families have died.

I was looking at a map of Georgia with the different counties colored by # of cases. I was curious at to why a county in South Ga. around Albany had so many cases. Then I saw an article explaining it all started with two funerals then the patients were treated as normal patients when they were hospitalized. It just kept spreading & spreading. I hope your sister gets better soon.

Sister now has the virus, fever and sick. I would still not be allowed to see her even if things were to get very bad and she were at risk of not surviving. Complete lockdown. Period. Social distancing, wear a mask. This is not a drill.

Thank you for the well wishes everyone. I am doing ok. The sister side of me has shut down and the brain is in full medical and survival mode. I get what is being done, I understand, I support the decisions that may have to be made. I am now on remote control..

Sending much Internet love. Being able to compartmentalize this, either by disposition or long experience in your nursing and military careers, seems like a rational response and small blessing at this overwhelming time when the choices are few and the distance is great. Many of us will be thinking of your sister and you and hoping for the best. If your sister is anything like you, she has some steel in her.

Jcmama777– sister is stable. Fever broke. She is less confused/disoriented. Still this hideous cough but no distress. Stable is good. It is hard to know that even if the worst case scenario happened I would not be allowed in to see her. No one gets past security and into the hospital unless you work there. Period, no exceptions.
