I probably am not the only one that is having a problem staying focused on my woe. I get up in the morning all gung ho about my food plan and for most of the day I stick to it then when late afternoon comes around, all hell breaks loose and I want to eat everything in sight. This stay at home thing is taking it's toll, I can't go anywhere, not even up to the local thrift shop to browse.
Plus I am usually golfing this time of year and that is postponed too. I am trying to regroup yet again this morning.ARGHHH!

I struggle around the late afternoon timeframe as well. What I’ve done is to schedule in my personal time so I can focus on what I enjoy & not think about my cravings. Things I’ve done are yoga, nails, podcasts or good movie to get lost in.

Definitely feel you. It seems like all there is to do us eat. It definitely complicates my eating plan.

I have a struggle late day too - fortunately I have work to distract me so I deink a bunch of green tea to take the appetite away

Surprisingly the golf courses are still open where I live, deemed essential 🤷🏾‍♀️. My kids and I still go out to ride our bikes too, either early or late, so as to avoid people. And we wear face coverings now. I guess we are lucky that there is plenty of open space nearby. I think about my family in Philly, no choice but to pretty much stay in because of the closeness of the rowhouses and densely packed population. Besides our daily rides, I try to get my kids to focus on something in or around the house to do. We’ve planted some flowers, doing an “extended” deep spring cleaning, fixing the little things that have been neglected due to lack of time and initiative. I haven’t gone stir crazy at home though because I still have to go out to work.

My problem eating used to occur late afternoon, too. I'd be busy doing chores around the house til then, then I'd settle in to watch TV and snack. If I plan to eat & watch TV now I put together a plate counting calories & try to keep it around 200 calories. I have been trying to stay occupied with activities outside. I also have our afternoon walk scheduled between 5 & 6.

Hang in there. This won't last forever. Everybody's doing this with you, so you're not alone. Flatten the curve!

Yes, I think it is a challenge for so many right now. My particular one is a daughter who is bored and experimenting making delicious treats. I'm delighted she is cooking, but having the strength to just have a little is a real struggle.... Every day is a new day to keep trying!

Thank you all for the good tips and commiserating with me. Just sharing makes me feel better. I really need to find something to do late afternoon to take my mind off of eating. I am also going to take SherryeB's advice and make up a plate of snacks and incorporate it into my diet plan.
