My PF closed. I knew it was a matter of time. Interested in how I'll look in 8 weeks after mostly cardio... or light weights. And today was back day. :( It's crazy how much is taken for granted and how spoiled and blessed we are because this being only day 3 of inconveniences is killing me. And really- the gym should maybe be the least of my concern- but I am more selfish than I would care to admit. I hate change and I hate when things don't go as planned... I would never survive long term in a catastrophic situation. I don't even own a flashlight except on my cell phone and if I do- it likely has no batteries.

I also hate change and hate when things don’t go as planned. It completely throws me off! As a stay at home mom I rely on short shopping trips and the gym to get out of the house by myself or with hubby. I’ve been recording supernatural so I have several hours of tv to entertain myself but it’s not the same as getting out and doing something.

I’m lucky that hubby bought a curl bar, 10# weights and 25# weights. I bought a bench, pull up bar and dumbbells ranging from 1 to 8#. We can still have mini workouts at home. Hubby and the kids do push-ups and sit-ups ups but I hate those. We also have a glider thing his grandmother gave us so I can get some cardio in if I want. Not the same as lifting heavy and seeing people at the gym though.

Body weight exercise! Prayers up you and all those that have no gyms for the moment! 🙏

Peeperjj— don’t sit home and watch TV . Take those kids outside to run. They need an outlet for their anxiety as well.

Fritzy—- do NOT go to the gym. Stay away from those close quarter conditions. Under the best of conditions they are not the cleanest places. This virus can live on inanimate objects for days.

Kenna - The last time I went to the gym was a week ago Monday. Don't plan on going. I'm surprised they are still open, but county guidelines so far aren't requiring it.

DP— think outside the box here. Think not so much about what you might look like in a few months and more about whether you are alive and healthy in a couple of months. I am used to swimming every single day. Now I am walking, doing my hand weights and exercising to TV videos. I am eating more foods that I don’t normally eat because I am choosing to calculate the nutritional value of what I am eating rather the caloric value. Partially eating what is available and beginning to use my emergency stock of food basics that come in cans and tend to be higher in calories and salt. You can control what happens if you really concentrate on eating as healthy as you can under the circumstances and just let go of the garbage, nutritionally barren foods. This is not going to be over soon— but you can do this.

Yes we are spoiled. Times like these remind us how fortunate we really are. Stay safe. 🙏❤️ to you all.

I also decided to not go to the gym anymore because of the virus. They haven’t closed yet but will be soon. I can work out at home I think. Yoga and stretching need to get the mind set of home workout. Going to the gym was kind of a brain switch that turned all outside worries off and focused on me. It was like my designated space. Now I gotta find a new space. Maybe try your garage.. that’s what I’m thinking for cardio/ jumping rope and running/ walking very early before people are on the streets. Oh and check YouTube you might find some workouts there

Kenna, today is the first day of spring break that it hasn’t rained. It’s super muddy but I told the kids to put on old clothes and they headed out for a bit. Supposed to be 75 today and tomorrow so I’m hoping it dries up some. Then back to 40-50’s for the weekend. I had planned on going to a petting zoo in the country (they advertised lots of space for social distancing), but they closed up due to the mud. We also planned on shopping to get steps in, taking walks down our go try roads and going to the park. Those aren’t options now. We have a family game of tag scheduled tomorrow if it dries out some. The kids have a small basketball court they can use when it’s sunny.

I keep going back and forth from- This is no big deal- To thinking This is insane and not ending any time soon. I don't know what information is accurate. But I do know the plan for 2 weeks and then re-evaluate is nonsense. Some of it sites seem to lean one way like it's all good news saying China is recovering and if you are young- you'll just have mild symptoms and no big deal- other sites are leading me to believe we are all going to get it and 25% of us will die. I'm worried about the economy and just trying to remember to pray and take care of myself and family the best that I can. I have dumbbells up to 25# which isn't enough for back and I will miss the leg press machine. David has had a pull up bar for years and does several pull ups a day but my fat ass is nowhere near being able to pull my weight. At PF I used the assisted one. Anyhow- If there is one thing that's good it is that I am praying more. Sad it takes an event like this to bring me back when I drift. Trying to act normally amid this is becoming increasingly difficult and we are barely getting started. Can't wait for sunshine to get outside more.

DP— don’t even begin to think this is not a big deal. It may be the biggest deal you ever go through. Stay focused, do what you are told to do in terms of social distancing and self quarantine. Right now this is our only hope of slowing this thing down so our medical system can survive. I have been through a lot of things in my life, things that would make your hair curl, but this is something I somehow always felt was coming and it’s here.

Kenna, do you think there are facts about this virus that are being withheld from the public? Not to stir up fear, but ‘it’ being here and all I’ve read (and that’s a lot!!) this seems more serious than we realize. Feel free to private message me your answer...guess I could have pm you the question. 🤭

Wifey— no I don’t feel like things are being held back. I get so much information sent to me from various medical related organizations and the info is really consistent. I also have a contact at the National Institute of Health who gives me great feedback on the changing events. Things are changing so fast— this is one bad ass virus that is capable of mutating faster than we can keep up with. We as a nation and the world as a whole did not see this coming someday. That baffles me—- Hollywood has with every single contagion movie they that has an apocalyptic ending. Amazing how people clammer to the movie theatre and pay good money to see this shit but are blown away when it actually happens.

Interesting. Thanks for your reply. Pretty non existent in my Canadian province, but I’m sure it’s coming. Although, during the Spanish flu in 1918, my province had the least number of cases and so far the cane with Corona. Perhaps viruses hate the cold. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not trying to be funny. Just a honest thought. Not true I guess, as flu season is always alive and well here most years.

*same with Corona.

Buy a WOSS (TRX but different brand) it's cheaper than a TRX and amazing workouts are avail on YouTube. Not sure if my 2 gyms are closed but staying away as I am in the high risk category.
