There is no best diet. There are no best foods. If certain foods cause you to binge eventually, or are leaving you unhappy, they are unhealthy no matter how many micronutrients they have. Are your habits and choices sustainable and are they leading you to a healthy body and mind? Then keep it up. The best diet is not the one that is best physically, it's the one that you can turn into a lifestyle that allows you to lose fat and KEEP IT OFF. You can incorporate all foods in healthy moderation. This journey is as much psychological as it is physical. Sure, try your best to get your nutrients but even people who get zero nutrients are getting healthier, just look at the people doing 24+ hour fasts. The main thing is getting to a healthy body fat percentage, vitamins are a far second. Another thing, just because the diet you chose made you healthy or "saved your life" by allowing you to maintain a calorie deficit long enough to lose unhealthy fat does not mean it is the key for everyone, so get off of your high horse. The holier than thou attitude reference your perfectly clean diet or veganism helps no one.

Yeah, Chris. I get plenty of nutrients in my daily 3.2k calories( a lot of fruit and fortified foods) and will get crap for having an unhealthy diet or for eating processed foods yet other people get all kinds of support and pats on the back while getting literally zero nutrients on a long fast. How logical.

I’ve never understood how fasting for days could be healthy. I’ll support the person but I don’t support the diet. I always think of all that muscle they are losing and can’t help but think most of what they lose is water. Why else would some lose say 10# over the week then gain 9 back? Just an example. I’ve watched people fast for days and seem to stay around the same weight for the 2 years I’ve been here (March will be 2 years). Again I can support the person and their right to choose their diet but I can’t support the diet or advise anyone to fast long term. I’ve even tried to talk family and friends out of keto and fasting more than a day. Breaks my heart to see them struggle for the last year at the same weight. But they won’t listen.

Nothing wrong with fasting short term. We do it every night! 🤣 But like most things in life, some folks just need to push the limits. You do You I say!

Amen Diablo! But I am along the lines of peeper, when I support a post, it's more the person, not the diet necessarily. It's sad to see the same people on fs lose and gain the same weight over and over again and its on the same no ideal diet, and yet still want to tear down CICO, and yours and Chris posts. When at the end of the day, that is all it is about! I'll go have my twix now...

Yes D! Not every WOL is for everyone. I'm with Peeper - I'll support folks with their journeys even though I don't agree with their WOE. What makes sense to me is ... if its a struggle, you're setting yourself up to fail.

I'll agree, if it doesn't do the job for you, to where you can sustain your plan, in a way that is positive and reinforcing, where you feel good and like what you are doing, then it doesn't work, regardless of how many other people might be doing it, or how much you think you "should" do it.

.. holier than thou attitudes .. are quite useless, regardless of where they might be coming from.
