Day 12 My ex always told a story to our girls about attitude: a wanderer comes to the gates of a village and asks: "What kind of people live here?" The gatekeeper says "What kind of people were in the village you came from?" and the wanderer says: oh, they were terrible and mean and thoughtless" so the gatekeeper says "the people in this village are just like that too so this is not the place for you."
A second wanderer comes and asks the same question: "What kind of people?" and the gatekeeper again says "how was your old village?" and the second wanderer says "They were kind and strong and generous" so the gatekeeper says "Welcome, welcome! You will find the same kind of people here!"
I am grateful for new faces and new phases. I don't know what the future holds but I think I have to believe that the village I go to will be very similar to the village I have left.
I am grateful for my friends who love to dance! Went to a really terrible club tonight (in the space beside the bowling alley!) but my friends really looked like they were having a good time!
I am grateful that I don't have any control of time or bodily functions or work schedules! These do motivate me to get up, get out, get moving! Paving tonight - lots of running around once they get going! And then I am done for the weekend - maybe will have to report to the office tomorrow night for an hour or so, but then I am free til Tuesday night!
I ate ok - got some dancing in but not a lot - Hope you all had a great Wednesday!

Abba I LOVED your story!!! Thank you for sharing it...It is so interesting that I want to share it with my students on our first day of class next week! I, too, am grateful for the regular routines and schedules that come with the Fall. It helps to get about, do things, and be with others consistently on a regular basis. So glad that you are feeling hopeful about your future "village"...great attitude Abba!!!
