Good discussion going on on Rosio19’s post with the image of a great looking pizza. A little of that issue of CICO versus plant based diet and so on. Personally I have to basically go with calories in/calories out. That being said, the quality of those calories that you eat is not only important from a weight loss point of view but from an improved health over time point of view. With a goal of eating within our RDI in order to attain a healthy weight or maintain a healthier weight. My way of eating includes all food groups, a varied diet, watching my portions and learning to stop eating when I am full. Want a steak—- have it. Want a pizza—- have a COUPLE pieces. Glass of wine, occasional 7 ounce can of Coke— yep. Hot dog and sauerkraut— yep, once in a while. But mostly eat real food, less processed junk, fewer of the less healthy carbohydrates and fats and learn to cook with improved health in mind. Include as many plant based meals as you can, include fish that have healthier fats to offer. And, of course, MOVE. The combination of cardio activities and resistance training is powerful. But start by doing what you can do— for many, where you live, the weather and the facilities you have available to you limits your choices of physical activity but work it out. Do something, just start.
