Kenna Morton's Journal, 24 Nov 19

Well shoot. It looks like all of my food entries for today have disappeared. This program I’m stuck in has a malfunction of some kind almost every day. I have been running back and forth to San Diego this week for an ill sister. It looks like she may go home tomorrow. My weight is stable despite eating foods that I normally don’t eat. A couple of sodas, Chinese a couple of times, pie and one fast food hamburger, A pizza that one of my sister’s nurses got for me from the cafeteria. For me it’s all about portion control. Eat just until hunger is satisfied and then STOP..

Thank you everyone for your kind words and. Support. This sister, who I love dearly, is 3 years older than I am and the poster child for everything I have ever written here on FS. Picky eater to the max, a severe “sweet tooth”, lifelong refusal to exercise and an advocate for non exercise related weight loss and will try any ridiculous diet as long as it offers MAGIC. Doesn’t like to sweat, not fond of the outdoors, hates cooking, literally will not cook and does not know how to boil water, has no hobbies and is happy spending all her time and money with and for her “fur babies”. Do people realize what a ridiculous word that is. Think not. Consequently multiple life threatening medical conditions that I have been managing for years. Now on this end of life she is obese, has zero muscle or stamina, legs so weak she is often unable to get off the toilet. Has recently developed type2 diabetes, blood clots in her leg from chronic inactivity—— this list could go on and on. And, eventually, will end in a care facility or at my house because she just physically cannot take care of herself and I may not be able to care for her either. This is what the future holds for those who follow her same prescription for living your life. There is a point of no return. So many younger people here are focused on just weight loss to look good in and out of clothes, I am focused on a healthier life, a healthier more sustainable life. That means cardio, strength training, doing the things today that your older age self is going to benefit from. There is a point of no return—- don’t go there.

Funny how people who are related can be so opposite. And in this case- very sad. I'm sure she's glad you could be there for her.

Tragic life really. They’re in my family too. Upsets me greatly. How did you end up so fit and healthy Kenna? I wish the best for your sister.💕

So sorry about your sister, it must be very hard to watch this when you know it might have been prevented. And yet, we never know what twists and turns life will bring. My mother took very good care of herself, eating right and working out at the gym into her nineties, but then she began to descend into dementia, and she knew it was happening, but there was nothing to be done. So terrible and so painful to helplessly watch.

Thidls nay help you it help me and hundreds of others 5&1: ✅1 Fueling every 2-3 hours, 5 times a day. First Fueling within the first 30-60 minutes of waking up and spread out every 2-3 hours thereafter. ✅1 Lean & Green measured/weighed out to the specifications of the guide. This includes counting all healthy fats, condiments, and optional snacks. ✅Drink a minimum of 64 - 100oz or more of water per day. You do these three things, nothing more, nothing less, you'll lose the weight you came here to lose in the quickest, healthiest way possible. It's that simple. 5&1 "ish": Making modifications to the plan above: ❎ Not eating your first Fueling within 30 - 60 minutes of waking up. ❎ Not getting all your Fuelings in throughout the day. ❎ Not eating every 2-3 hours. ❎ Not measuring/weighing out your Lean & Green. ❎ Not keeping track of condiments. ❎ Not keeping track of optional snacks. ❎ Not drinking all your water. ❎ Not counting bites, licks, and tastes. ❎ Adding things that are not plan approved. ❎ Going off on the weekends. ❎ Etc. Etc. Etc. Any one item, or combination of the items listed above, can modify the results you are capable of getting here. Does that mean you still can't lose weight? No - you're in a calorie deficit so you can still lose some weight. However, consistently doing any of those things will impact your ability to get into and stay in fatburn and you'll most likely notice that in how you feel and the time it takes to get to your goal. 👎 You'll be hungrier. 👎 You'll have less energy. 👎 You'll have more cravings. 👎 Your sleep quality won't be as good. 👎 You'll spend more money being on program because it will take you longer to get to your goal. 👎 You'll be more frustrated/discouraged with the process because of all the above and the fact that you'll experience weeks where you'll gain vs lose. 👎 Etc. Etc. Etc. _______________________________________ You came here for a reason... let yourself get what you came here for and stop over-complicating the simplicity of this program by not following it. You can do this. Really. If you feel you are doing everything right and not seeing an average weight loss of around 10 lbs per month, request a systems check from your coach so they can dig in to see if they can help identify what may be causing you not to reach that mark at a minimum. This program isn't magic, it's science, and if you follow it as prescribed, the science will work it's magic. 😉 Coachcrespohealthiestyou On instagram

Wifey— I went to nursing school at the age of 16. A very impressionable age, at big LA County General Hospital. Because of the nature of our patient population I saw the worst, the weirdest, the most bizarre patients ever. It didn’t take long for me to figure out that how you live your life on a day to day basis is going to have an impact on how you end your life. Some damages cannot be undone and the sins of our youth are often still buried waiting to bite us in the ass as we age, at a time when our bodies can least cope with them. I also figured out that you have to have fun in life, enjoy foods, have a glass of wine (or two), smoke a joint, eat some pie, have a coke, go sky diving or what’s the point in living. The epiphany of portion control, moderation hit me in my late to early 30s and that is how I live my life. It works if you can master it. We are all going to die, I am not one of those who hopes to live forever. I just want to do my part to help my body have a chance to be as healthy and functional as possible until That time comes. It is so damn easy and sorry but I just DO NOT GET how people can abuse themselves so badly. the negative impact on themselves, their families , society, the medical system is staggering and we pass those behaviors to the children who watch us everyday and thus we have these multiple generational disasters.

I agree with most of what you said Kenna. Your knowledge and level headed living is commendable my dear. May those you help, GET IT like you do. Your input on this sight is valuable. I truly appreciate you. 🥰

Anna Bear54– actually I do not drink at all. I used to social drink in my younger years, but after treating hundreds of ER patients with alcohol affiliated injuries and deaths I just decided that it was something that I personally did not need in my life. I did discover Coors non alcoholic beer and I really like it. When I go out I drink tea or Perrier, something like that..

Shirfleur1– when people reach their later years like your mom, their deaths do not have to be related to poor life choices. Even the best, most diligent, healthiest people will die and you have to die of something. What is bothersome is to see people in their 50s, 60, whose bodies are just permanently wrecked and way older than than they should be for their age.
