I haven’t written the recipes for the ice cream or the banana bread but neither have any sugar in them. I used SWERVE which has no countable calories carbs. For the first time in a long time my calorie count will be over RDI but breakfast was at 3 am so it was a long day.

Bella uses Swerve too. I haven’t heard of it until you both.

Jcmama777– I have never used artificial sweeteners in the past but finally started experimenting with SWERVE to see if I could lighten up some of the treats and deserts that my friends and I love to make since many people in my world are T2 diabetics.. Swerve does not raise blood sugar so does not need to be counted. It measures like sugar, quick breads and cakes brown and rise just like real sugar. and no one has yet been able to tell the difference and believe me, I have some very picky critics. When I made peach pie with it, everyone raved that it was the best peach pie they ever had. Not one person spotted the switch. Today I made ice cream with it and again, froze like sugar and the same great flavor and does not have an after taste. One big drawback is that it is expensive if you use it a lot. I save it for deserts and cook/ bake to the number of people I am serving. No leftovers to go to waste.

Thanks for sharing Kenna. I lost a decent amount of my sweet tooth, but I also still love them and I was looking for an alternative sweetener that didn’t taste awful.
