I think the risk of having the power turned off is now over. I really don't understand why it was necessary. I know high winds were forecast, but there weren't any around my house. The power was turned off twice, during the hottest days of this month. It was off all night Monday and came back on by 11am Tuesday. So Tuesday was good. Then 3am Wednesday the power went out again and was out until 6pm. Yesterday was miserable. It was hot outside and hot inside. Hopefully PG&E is done messing with us. They seem to be very good at turning off power but haven't figured out how to quickly get power back to everyone when they realize there is no risk. Anyway, life can get back to normal. It's amazing how much I depend on being able to get online, watch TV and just have the a/c and fans running during heat waves. And I have to be fair, maybe turning off the power prevented a fire from starting someplace where there were high winds. I'd rather go without power for a day or so than have my house burn down.

Thank you for the update. I haven't been online much myself and was wondering how you were doing. I'm glad it seems they will leave the power off for the time being anyway. What a frustrating situation. Wish we could just send you rain... Would solve the problem nicely. Glad you can breathe a bit now... Nice cool, air conditioned air!

Thanks Melissa - it's supposed to cool down to about 75 tomorrow and not even reach 70 on Saturday. So hopefully the fall weather will continue. Fire danger continues when things get really windy, our rainy season is when the fire danger slows down. Winter is when we get our rain, hope it will start sooner though.
