me,myselfandi's Journal, 01 Sep 19

I did *not* avoid any social situations with food in August and gave myself a 3,000 calorie budget for those days. Did really well with work (happy hour, company picnic, wedding shower) and kept it under that for all 3. Family events were tougher (birthday, graduation, sporting event) and I went over for all 3.

But, even on those 3 days I missed my goal, none went over 3,500 calories. I think I was aiming for 3,000 even though I missed it. I estimate I used to do 5,000-7,000 calories so this is still positive. And I'm not missing any memories to hide from food. And I hit my 2,500 daily goal for August to boot.

I know these calorie counts are *way* higher than in most other FS posts, but this is where I'm at right now.

BTW, no judgement on anyone who needs to avoid temptation to achieve their goals. That was a tactic I used and, now that I lost a lot of weight, I’m trying re-engage with food in a more healthy way and it’s really tough. 🥅

Way to go, me,myselfandi. I like the way you showed, how not to beat yourself up! I'm only in day 5 of the Keto thing. it's confusing, frustrating as I learn. You showed its also a mental. Thanks for being positive!

I love this! I can get so caught up into beating myself up over going above my rdi, but compared to my "normal" calorie intake it is still a big improvement. Go you, memyselfandi!! ps: you always put the de la soul hip hop song in my head -- love it! Now i am dating myself!

MM&I- I do the same thing and I love it. I chow down when I feel like it and I eat less when I need to to keep those daily averages in line. It works wonders for a girl like me who LOVES a huge meal sometimes. All about balance. I think you are doing great! 💗
