FullaBella's Journal, 30 Aug 19

Yesterday really put me through my paces although I don’t know why. Full moon? Mars in retrograde? ::Shrug:: My bipolar appetite kept revving from zero to ninety in a blink and when the sun finally set on Bellawood it was touch & go fighting a desire to eat (though not hungry). Self smackdown required to stop myself from cooking a bacon-cheese-hamburger steak at midnight. I reminded myself to keep the championship belt I had to be able to wear the belt. Today has been a better day so far. I just had a little nosh at noon. At first I thought ‘oh no, here we go again’ but I remembered I’ve been up since 2am so it’s ‘dinner’ to my body’s time cycle. I’m looking forward to Hot Springs this weekend. Dinner theater tomorrow night. Mineral bath and massage Sunday morning.

Good to hear that today is a back to normal programming day and you can be wonder woman again. But you are always fabulous. Is that Trish Stratus?

Liv - thank you. I didn't feel fabulous - I felt like 'this is it, this is how it ends...' I hated yesterday. I don't know who is in gif, sorry. Mira - thank you.

Yeah I know what you are saying. But it passed. Your inner diva is always there

Bella, I think you should be very proud of your victory over appetite yesterday. Is there any tip you might have learned from how you resisted the urge to eat that can be useful for other people or that you could use on future occasions? Enjoy your weekend! And send us some pics to make us jealous! 😜😘

I like that- "To keep the belt you have to be able to wear it" ;) Good job! I would never cook in the middle of the night. I'm more of a stand at the counter and shovel in a quick PB&J and small cup of milk. I'm intrigued by your motivation to actually cook. 😁

Eva - after arguing the reasons NOT to do it... I finally asked myself to give good reasons TO DO it. Hunger? No. Taste good? Not particularly. It's a frozen Sam's choice nearly 500 calorie thing ( So no real cooking DP) and so on. That worked this time.

What a practical lesson in self-awareness, Bella! I love the idea of thinking about the reasons why you want to eat, instead of (or in addition to) repeating to yourself the reasons why you shouldn’t. It forces you to take a distance from the urge to eat and try to understand it, which I guess diminishes its power.

@ Shir & DP - thank you both - didn't mean to skip you yesterday. @Eva - thank you too. I have never had a 'sponsor' or shrink but I have seen many in the movies so that's often what I mimic in my head. Living alone I don't have to eat in private or sneak - no one here to judge me. So I have to be my own judge. I have to remind myself (in my sponsor voice) that we all have free will and decide how to use it.
