I've been lazy with weighing my fruit lately. I just started again and noticed that even with the safer fruit like oranges and bananas my counts may have been off by a lot. I just weighed a banana and it was 150 calories. The largest one on the site only has a count of 121. I also weighed an orange last night that I thought was pretty small. It was 85 calories. On FS the large is 69 calories. I eat so much fruit that these differences can add up. It's a good reminder to me more diligent in weighing if you want accuracy.

My food scale just bit the dust, but I do normally record mine in grams. And I will again once I get a new scale. Electronics just don't last long here in the humidity.

I weigh everything, especially fruits! I get it down to the ounce cause every ounce counts. I was like you then last week I weighed my apple just to see and bout fell out!! 45 calorie difference!!

Good reminder. I finally realized yesterday that one tbsp of butter is NOT one OZ. At times it worked in my favor but not always. Glad I stopped that train in time.

Yes, and if such a low calorie snack can be off by this much, imagine the more calories dense stuff. Haha, princess, now I want a donut.

This innocent reminder to weigh your portions has turned X-rated. Shame, Chris, shame! First the capri pants, next the wedding ring, now the smut. I think it's you that must take the walk of shame while DP follows you ringing a bell.

Yeah, this is why I don't take my training wheels off. It might be different if I was the cook of household and grew up knowing how to "eye ball" and ounce or cup of something. My mom can do it with uncanny accuracy, but then she's the chef here. However, in my case weighing and measuring food has only been a 2 year habit with many years of inaccuracy before that point, soooo no matter what now- I weigh and measure. I just can't trust my own eyes. I'm infamous for making 2 cups into 1 if this mind thinks it can get away with it.

I did the same with my figs this past month, until I realized how heavy a single fig is. I logged them randomly haha

When I count the calories I, almost never take into account the fruits. I just think well they are healthy
