All about stop buying detoxes!! Especially when it takes $300-$500 a month from you. I do have to say that some people are 💯 carb sensitive. I am one of them. My daughter is too. I’m not diabetic, however I eat them and gain huge, but I pee a few times and I am back where I was. We’re all different. But yes 💯 CICO. It is the biggest thing. I had a huge deficit last week so hoping for a whoosh!🤗🤗🤗 at the same time since rheumatologist put me on meds my weight balance is crazy,

All about CICO but some of us react differently to carbs.

They may cause hunger issues but after hundreds of studies there has never been an outlier who gained more fat from a certain macro.

Are they studies of gluten intolerance or celiacs disease or insulin resistant? I totally agree with you, however we’re all not cut from the same cloth or mold

There are studies with athletes to elderly obese insulin resitant people. CICO has been proven over and over in metabolic ward studies. We differ in our preferences and what we can stick to but otherwise vary very little. Some have slower or faster metabolisms but even that is blown out of proportion. Carbs will cause water gain. They hydrate you hence the last part of carbohydrate. They fill glycogen stores which can make people believe they are gaining fat but it's just water/glycogen.

Fasting isn’t magical. It’s about limiting calories and still feeling full and content. We all have to put our best foot forward for weight loss, however we all react differently to certain peptides and the way we use them. Toss it up to staying a little below your daily RDI or come in at some kind of deficit for the week.

"Abstract The goal of this study was to evaluate the effect of diets that were equally low in energy but widely different in relative amounts of fat and carbohydrate on body weight during a 6-wk period of hospitalization. Consequently, 43 adult, obese persons were randomly assigned to receive diets containing 4.2 MJ/d (1000 kcal/d) composed of either 32% protein, 15% carbohydrate, and 53% fat, or 29% protein, 45% carbohydrate, and 26% fat. There was no significant difference in the amount of weight loss in response to diets containing either 15% (8.9 +/- 0.6 kg) or 45% (7.5 +/- 0.5 kg) carbohydrate. Furthermore, significant decreases in total body fat and waist-to-hip circumference were seen in both groups, and the magnitude of the changes did not vary as a function of diet composition. Fasting plasma glucose, insulin, cholesterol, and triacylglycerol concentrations decreased significantly in patients eating low-energy diets that contained 15% carbohydrate, but neither plasma insulin nor triacylglycerol concentrations fell significantly in response to the higher-carbohydrate diet. The results of this study showed that it was energy intake, not nutrient composition, that determined weight loss in response to low-energy diets over a short time period."

^Several metabolic ward studies have shown that there is no difference in weight loss when protein intake was held constant.

Whilst I agree with this, counting calories is just just a pain in the ass. Besides, it’s hard to know exactly how many calories you get. So I don’t count religiously but have “an eye” on what I eat. And avoid industrial food, that’s what works the best. Detox? Ridiculous lol

Yeah, for people like yourself and Allmytribe who never really had a big issue with weight, it's pretty simple to get to and maintain a healthy weight just by watching your portions. For people like myself and others, that isn't the case. Trust me, if I could get away with just guestimating I'd do it. And no, I am not saying you have it easy, you still have to be as mindful but you don't have the same issues when not counting. I go haywire on calories if I don't log them.

I'm also a special case in that I want to know exactly what is going on. I want to ensure I am getting enough protein to maintain and/or build muscle, I don't want a large deficit that will cause muscle loss or such a large surplus that I am gaining a lot more fat than muscle.

I second Diablo on this one. Being overweight all of my life, counting calories has been an educational experience that has changed my life. I see counting calories as a priority over Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. It’s a first priority.

I enjoy counting and am extremely inconsistent with it. I have learned so much along the way, but #3 is false. It is ALWAYS magical until the user regains the weight. Ha Rumph! Chris and David keep me in the gym or basement or dungeon.....I still do cardio.....just not as much...….

wish i wasn't counting mine today... or wish they didn't count today is actually more like it. 🙄🤷‍♀️

I will easily eat 3,000-5,000 calories per day if I don't count them.
