I also get tired of people who comment on my weight. People who don’t know me well will sometimes comment on how LUCKY I am to be so thin and not have to worry about dieting. These are usually people at school— so I am not wearing slinky, form fitting clothes. That was never my thing even when I was young— of course those were my hippie days so I was more often in an angel dress and combat boots— I digress. The people at my gym, when they comment, say things about how fit I look. One of the life guards (who is also a fitness trainer) has commented a couple of times on my shoulder muscles and my stamina — I can swim, albeit it slowly, for 2 hours. These people think it comes easily, but it doesn’t. I have never been overweight. Like most of us I have a family history riddled with diabetics. I do my very best to avoid that horrible, life sucking disease. So to people’s comments I have no problem setting them straight. I work hard day after day to Do the things that will give me the greatest opportunity for a healthy, fun, productive golden years. It is a give and take, a compromise here and there. Healthier habits today— maybe not so much tomorrow. This can be done painlessly.

I don't know...I think it's natural for people to give a compliment when they see someone who's looking good or doing well. Unless they're being "fake nice"/nosy, I don't think they mean any harm. I know If I worked hard to look good and get healthy, I would love it if people complimented me 😊. It would make my day! Besides, it's better than having your progress ignored or having people point out the negative. If you're getting compliments, it means that you are on the right track. I say, keep em coming 😀.

Interesting reminder. Maybe some want it to be luck because it's easier than having to think about the work required.

People tell me too about how lucky I am, they say: I wish I was like you 🙄. They have no idea how hard I worked my butt to lose weight and I still do to maintain now.

Yep— anyone who thinks they are going to diet and then, magically all will be wonderful for the rest of your life is in denial. It takes Hard work and discipline to get into the healthiest shape you can and it takes even more work as you get older and Father Time and Mother Nature both kick in with their two cents. You want to be prepared with all your armor on and ready to do battle.
