I have to get serious - saw myself in a store mirror with bright lights and a low angle - man, I am looking old and fat! Old I can't help - fat has got to go.

Recorded food today. Gotta keep doing that since recording was the only way that I could lose weight last year - that and planning ahead, but really more the recording and keeping the number below 1300 average.

This week the forecast calls for temps in the 90's! Glad I am for working nights when the temps will drop to the 70's and 80's! I also ran out and bought two little air conditioners, one for me and one for my daughter! Losing it though - spent an hour getting my daughter's into her window, shut the door to cool things off for her and forgot to shut the other window! Good thing I put away her laundry for her and discovered the trouble - otherwise the thing would have run and not cooled off a thing. Tomorrow I'll get mine put in - or maybe go and get a bigger one for more than one room cooling. Not sure.

I don't eat a lot when it's really hot - but I go for the high calorie stuff like ice cream. I'll have to be careful!

So, Independence Day is almost over but the party is tomorrow - barbecue! Hope you all enjoy your day off if you have one or have a Happy Monday at work if you don't!

Those department stores mirrors aren't kind to any of us but I know what you mean. Just keep at it Abba. You will do it. Enjoy your bbq today. I have to go to work but I will be celebrating in my heart.

I understand completely about not wanting to eat when it is too warm. I find myself not feeling hungry until later on when I cool off. :) Oooopsie with the window! LOL I have done the same thing myself. Wondering why it is not cooling off and realizing I have an open window somewhere is something I seem to have occur at least once a season!

You can do it Abba. Like Info said skinny and strong not old and fat. I was old and fat, now I'm thinner and ......... well, guess I'm still old ~ LOL. You get the point. You have just "awakened" to find you can do this Abba. The heck with the window in the store. Keep on going, and in time you will get there. I am a big believer in recording the calories, planning ahead and "keep on truckin". I am getting into much smaller clothes these days, only thru months of hard work. It won't go overnight. Day by day. We are here to encourage you. Like my other buddies told me when I was impatient, it's a journey NOT a race. Very good words. Keep them in your mind. Your mantra. A JOURNEY, NOT A RACE. We are here for you!! If you have time, check out the ice cream freezer in your store. They have lots of lower caloried ice creams, juice popsicles, icees, etc. I buy them all the time. Some are 60 calories and on up. You can pick something out to keep on hand and its delicious and refreshing in the heat. Let me know what you find. Have a good week.

Happy Independence Day Abba!! I'm looking at your new pic and I'm not seeing old or fat. Funny thing about mirrors...they don't show your hard work, strong muscles and determination to get in shape. There is nothing more rewarding than taking good care of yourself and your family. I so respect you for wanting to improve your body!! Recording calories helps me a lot too. ;)

I love reading your journal entries they really make me think outside the "diet box". It's not about keeping on a diet, it's about our outlook on life and how food fits into it. You have become a great inspiration!
