Hello fellow FSers! Welcome to Sodium Sunday! LOL

After my self-sabatoge move of eating Doritos & Cheetos on Wed-Thurs and being truthful about the amount I ate, more than the calories, I was horrified by the sodium amounts: over 6000mg on Wed and 4000mg on Thurs. I had been concerned at my sodium amounts since tracking here, because it has been shocking. I average usually 2000mg and that is high. Wow, processed food is crazy!

Today I looked up what a healthy amount should be: adults under age 50 is 1500-2300mg. Over age 50 (me): 1300mg!!!! Aye carumba! We all know to watch the sodium/salt; just passing along this info. Have an awesome Less Sodium Day!!! :) (unless you are doing keto; remember reading keto dieters need more?)

Yes we have sodium doing Keto and need more. But when balanced right and you have enough potassium (4:1 ratio) then it is less salt than when you are low on potassium and need more salt to compensate

I'm confused about sodium. For example, white fish is a healthy food choice but it's high in sodium. How do we balance sodium and potassium?
