I had "one of those days" today: annoyed, sad, alone and stuff going wrong! The day where I say "screw it" to the diet and march to nearest convenience store and angrily crunch chips all night. I even gave myself permission. Then I realized how disappointed I would be in me if I did that. Besides, there aren't enough chips on this planet to fill an emotional void! I have never, ever felt happy nor satisfied about overeating, especially when it's a private binge session. I took a deep breath, listened to a guided mediation (3x) and had a healthy-ish lunch of crackers, cheese and salsa; with a "treat" of Coke Zero. I watched Netflix and let go of the day. The fibre made me full and dinner was on track. Do you ever have those days? How do you deal with them?

I definitely know those days :) I find journaling helps as long as after I vent I try and think of something I can do or change or work towards that might help with the thing(s) that are pissing me off. And I find that always keeping healthy, ready to eat food in the fridge helps. That way when I want to eat something there’s convenient healthy food and no just convenient junk food. If you’re frustrated/agitated it can help to get it out with physical activity. Go for a walk or something. If you’re frustrated/tired, then a nice hot bath and Netflix (I prop my computer on a TV tray). And I like you’re idea of thinking of what works for you. Has eating junk made you feel better...nope. So finding something else.
