If you’d have ever told me one day I’d be struggling to get enough fat into my diet .. well, I’d have called you ugly names. Then today I’d be wondering about the fat content in the crow I’d be having to eat.
Sure, I’ve googled the high fat-low carb food list and I have some of everything on the list except the Shirataki Noodles because I just don’t yet trust the ‘noodle’ to not be pasta and carbs. And never would I ever have considered guacamole and sour cream my ‘friend’. I mentally imagine the ‘wheee!’ of going down a slide or something every time I remind myself ‘Bells, these are okay.’
But the challenge is still there to get the macros right. High fat still has to allow for the calorie deficit.
The taste buds have almost 180’d. About a month ago when I first tried the Keto dark chocolate cups I made the ‘I just ate baker’s chocolate face’ trying to get accustomed to sugarless dark chocolate. Yesterday I had one and thought ‘wow, this is really good’. Prosciutto seems too salty. I cannot seem to get enough salmon and eggs into my mouth. Together. At the same meal. I can’t explain it. I always thought the wholly guacamole was pure but lately it seems too sweet. I may have to go to straight avocado but that’s always a challenge to keep it … it seems it goes from ‘not ripe enough’ to ‘science experiment’ within a day.
All in a day.

I do not worry about the calories. Ketosis usually regulate that by itself. I worry about is to eat less carbs (not more than 20), keep an eye on protein and then fat sort of sorts itself out. I do want to get full and that is what the fat do for me. It is only problematic in the beginning when you are working to get into ketosis. At that point fat may be very helpful to add.

@FullaBella, since I'm relatively new to the keto WOE, I can keep my macros in line by planning my meals one day at a time, a day in advance, in my FS food log. I also weight and measure everything onto my plate/bowl. Lately, I measure every food in grams instead of ounces and cups because it's more accurate.

Bella same here for me. The avocados I get them just right but when they are just a little too ripe...ick! Keeping them in the fridge keeps them longer, but then if you want one it may not be ready yet...LOL. The avocado struggle is real!!!!
