Bible Bliss's Journal, 18 Sep 12

Starting out to be a great Tuesday:)

So glad to be here - always miss FS and feel out of sorts when away!!! Hope to catch up on journals soon.:) Managed to survive the weekend. Was attending a Bible study seminar, then needed to recover from the physical exertion lol. Rushed as best I could in the mornings to shower and dress, and made the drive there and back 45 mins in heavy traffic. Lower back, right hip and right leg held up, but by Sunday evening the pain was ridiculous. Not sure what possessed me to try to do all that when these days just walking from the car to a building is a challenge? Reminded once again that overdoing things sets me back further than if I had practised moderation.;-) Always grateful to be more aware of what the fine line is for me physically... and morally as well.... These have been crucial limits. To know the limits to my self control and not trust myself beyond them has been a huge step for me.;-)

Have a physio appointment later this morning. Lol hoping not to do the acupuncture thing again. Providentially met a physiotherapist at the seminar who advised me that her full recovery from her partial stroke was due to her following her physio treatment 100% - exercises every day and a board under her mattress. Her doctors were skeptical that she would ever walk or even use her arms properly again, but she has proved them wrong to their amazement! Now there is no trace of her former issues. She knows others who only somewhat followed their physio treatment and only somewhat healed, still complaining of residual pain and limitations years later. Her personal testimony and professional knowledge really touched me, and I am committed to following her excellent example.;-)

Feel so much better mentally not taking meds. Gone is the water retention and am encouraged by having lost another pound over the past week despite not being able to exercise, keeping at or below RDI. Go figure.

So blessed for this time away from the rat race, and this opportunity to learn and grow in new ways.;-) "I can do all things in Him who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

To all my buddies: Stay extraordinary and God bless your day.:)

So nice to hear your seminar was good. A break from the everyday is so nice and recharges our batteries. I think we could all benefit from a weekend like that now and again. Hope your appointment goes well today. I had acupuncture once for migraines, LOVED it! However it is not covered by insurance here in the good old US and is $90+ a session, needless to say I went the chiropractor route which worked well, just took longer and required diligence on my part. Great job on the loss :) Hang in there I bet the twill have you feeling better soon!!

Glad you enjoyed the seminar and can relate to your overdoing it. We want to be strong and we don't want to be held back. Sometimes even when we know its not in our best interest. Physio will help you but it is a slow process. Little by little you will heal and one day all at once you will notice it. I am hoping it will be sooner than expected. Was this the seminar on Luke? Hope you are feeling better very soon Maria. Hugs!!
