abbadabba's Journal, 24 May 10

I am trying to limit what I eat, but I am too lazy to enter stuff into the calendar - maybe I'll try counting points again, since that seemed to work to get my first 10 pounds off.

Work is not busy but I am getting comfortable with the night shift. Sad to say my older daughter is going away for the summer, she thinks! If she can't get a job I told her to come back home and go to summer school, even if it's only a ceramics class or just something to keep her busy a couple of days a week.

I did get out and garden today and yesterday - bending to cut trees all along the fence, and then sawing off many branches along the driveway, and digging up perennials to split. I was sweating - it was hot though, so I am sure mostly I was just overheated not actually burning many calories.

Let's see if I can't get down to the 158 again by Saturday by keeping actual track of calories/points this week.

Glad you are getting used to your shift and sorry your daughter is going away. Where is she going? On a vacation? Jobs are tough to find everywhere it seems. Ashley has been applying since Januarary. She does have an interview on Wed. and I am hoping it will work out. Have a good day Abba!

My daughter is going to live with her grandmother at a beach resort, and hopes to get a job there. If she gets a job, she'll stay at the beach, if not, then I hope she will come home and take a class or two. I can certainly keep her busy working on things here.

Isn't gardening cathartic? Sorry you are missing your girl and hoping you find your groove for the summer months! :)

Hi abba, I don't know if I mentioned LiveStrong.com's MyPlate calorie/nutrition counter to you. It's what I use. The database is the largest on the web, and it's very fast. If the current version which has adds irritates you switch to the classic version and give it a try. It lacks the integration with Fatsecret and other members will not be able to comment on what you have eaten. The speed and comprehensiveness of the database may make the difference in whether you are able to record or not though. I hope that you are enjoying the long weekend.
