I am trying to stay around 100 net carbs per day, and 100g of protein or more. I hope this balances out well.

To calculate the net, or effective, carbohydrate content of a food, subtract the number of grams of fiber from the number of grams of carbohydrate.

For example, 1 cup of blackberries has 14 grams of carbs, but almost 8 grams of it comes from fiber. Total Carbs – Fiber = Net Carbohydrate or in my example, 14 grams – 8 grams = 6 grams of net carbs.

Someone posted in one of the forum that this is a experiement that I am performing on my body and thats what you are doing. Finding the optimal combination that works for your body is a matter of trial and error.

Great job thinking about the nutrition and I am always performing experiments with my diet and exercise LOL. If you can stick with 100 net carbs per day that is awesome. I am having trouble with carbs. I like to put them in my mouth too much. :)

You are very strict! I try to limit myself to no more than 162 carbs per day - I usually run much less than that and in my opinion it is difficult as HELL. I admire your tenacity!

KMD - I subtract the fiber count from the carb count to get to around 100 carbs a day. I eat a lot of fiber!!!

HCB - I thought about this when I was at the grocery store today and looked for things with more fiber and the net carbs.

Great! It is helpful when you do the totals for your day. I don"t always meet my limits, but not too bad. Today's diet calendar is what I shoot for daily. Maybe a few more calories at times but the percentages are what I shoot for...
