tahoebrun's Journal, 16 May 18

Good afternoon everyone - busy day and I am just getting to the virtual part. today was interesting. I woke up and tested, it was a bit high in blood glucose (125 - so not crazy; but higher than I have been) so I just drove on as normal. I had my usual oatmeal breakfast, got to work , got my coffee and all is well. went to meet a coworker for second breakfast which is more protein based with a few carbs to keep things in balance - again all typical. I was feeling a bit funky so I went to my desk and tested again - I was at 54. I think my pancreas just lays around thinking of ways to mess with me. Some days are just funny and I have to laugh. I keep wanting a linear performance and I am more like a best fit graph on a scatter chart. my lesson learned for today is that I need to keep learning and wear this like a loose shirt. I made it through lunch and am feeing as normal as I will ever get. I hope you all have a great day on your adventures.

Geeze that's kind of scary! Does it do that all of the time? I hope you feel better soon.

My hubby deals with the same types of issues. When his blood sugar crashes, it wipes him out. Says he feels like he's been run over by a truck!

ny-shelly - it is funny because it hasn't for a while - today was out of the blue. I think that my pancreas has an odd sense of humor.

Thanks everyone, I have been really stable for a few months, so this was just a hiccup. It is just really amazing how our bodies function (not counting my pancreas who is a jerk) and just when you think you have it figured out...something pops up. I am super grateful to my health care team and to all of you for the support. Just have to keep learning.

Ah the joys of living inside a highly complex, dynamic, ever changing machine. There is always a surprise waiting that makes us learn some more. Hang tough bruddah, you will yank that jerk of a pancreas back in line.
