Have followed about a 15-1600 calorie diet, but also noticed that I am retaining water even though I am on a low sodium diet, have been having milk shakes with ice and skim milk, about a quart a day and it is fairly high sodium so will cut those down to ONE A DAY.

Also eating the steel cut oats, but the last was cooked yesterday, adding about 1/4 of a small apple chopped and a table spoon of brown sugar and about 2 table spoons of skim milk.

Supper has been mesquite smoked rabbit chowder or beef stew with more stew than beef.

Taking some lasix to get the swelling out of my legs and that is probably responsible for the 2 pound loss of weight on the scale.

Covid 19 lock down still in place and only have powdered milk on hand and I don't l;ke the taste even with some vanilla flavoring and stevia to sweeten. Drinking 3 to 4 quarts a day of liquid, and also eating a half cup or so of unsweetened apple sauce with a couple of table spoons of ground flax seeds. It is really good for cholosterol as is the oats. Will go to flat oats until we build back up enough of a grocery list to risk going to town for groceries. Actually have been getting outside some to work on the container gardening. getting some exercise as well as sunshine but is gray and cold today. got bad rain with the storm that put a MILLION people out of their homes all over the south and killed quite a few as well, the rain fell horizontally here and some of the fruit trees had leaves damaged by the whipping winds and small hail, but overall we didn't suffer any bad damage like a tree down and we didn't lose power for a long time so we are fortunate.

I have been isolated at home due to the virus but have been sticking pretty close to my 12-1500 calories. The weight loss is SLOW but steady, nearly a pound a week.

I am recovering from my recent illness and getting out and about more in the yard and house so exercise is slowly increasing as I am regaining strength. The lower sodium part has just become "natural" with me now so it is no longer trouble to think before I eat or buy something.

For breakfast I am having 1 cup of steel cut oats, 1.2 of a small apple, 1/8 cup of skim milk and a tea spoon of brown sugar, for lunch I will have a smoothie of 1 banana, 2 cups skimmed milk and some flavoring and no cal sweetner, makes about a cup with added ice to help keep me hydrated.

Also eating 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce and some ground flax seeds,.

For dinner I eat whatever I have prepared that day in a small amount, so am doing just fine, not trying to lose 10 pounds a week, just changing my habits back to a more healthy way of eating.

Got out the steel cut oats and eat them for lunch which helps me keep from being really hungry by 4 p.m. so I don't eat dinner until 6 or so. I chop up half an apple in it and add a table spoon of milk so I have some chewing to do. Apparently the act of chewing helps satisfy my appetite some

Still not physically able to do a lot of exercise but am improving lung function and heart rate is going back down.

Out of bananas to make shakes with so am taking a slim fast drink and mixing with ice for a shake. Just gotta hang on and get the weight down to at least 175. Still doing the low sodium thing

Can't find the place to post journal so will edit this and add on. Still at 208 pounds in the mornings, and am feeling better after that horrible smoke thing that really put me under the weather and made me as weak as a kitten. Am able to do more physical stuff not without getting out of breath. House is still a wreck but am taking o ne room a day and cleaning it down deep.

With this corvid 19 we are stocked up and locked up and will live like hermits until this is about done. us older folks and ones with lung problems do NOT need to get this virus.
