~ * Listen to your body - it's trying to tell you something! * ~

I think my scale is broken!!! 3 days of barely moving, my weight should be way up there! I am very thankful that it isn't, but, as they say, proof is in the pudding that; sometimes our body truly needs a break!

I have been pushing my physical limitations, working in my gardens and yard, these past few weeks - to the point of not only physical but mental exhaustion and I do NOT recommend this but for me it worked. I used, abused and damaged long inactive muscles and believe me - it hurt and my body revolted!!

I listened to my body, I rested and gave it what it craved - in moderation of course, I ate chips and cookies, I even drank pop but I did keep it all within my daily, self-imposed, allotted caloric intake. I needed the sodium to restore what I lost through excessive sweating and I needed the carbs plus protein to help repair my damaged muscles

Now that I am rested, it's time to use and strengthen those damaged muscles so that they continue to do their job and help me burn some fat!!

~ ♡ the scale does not measure your success! ♡ ~

I already knew, before I even stepped on the scale this morning, that my weight would be up...because I "feel fat". My legs feel like sausages and my lower back is really tight...and then I remembered that I did more than just lay on the couch all day! I had experienced some major stressors yesterday that would have normally left me weeping my car in a strange city.

• I got lost while driving to a hospital in another city at 6:30 in the morning but I didn't freak out!! WoW, no anxiety or panic! I had left early enough to account for construction detours along the way AND I stopped to ask for directions. Asking a local resident is always better than Google Maps when it comes to detours!

• I walked to and from the parking lot to the hospital AND I took the stairs without becoming breathless!! WoW, my lungs are getting stronger!

• AND OMG!, I successfully endured a 2nd MRI without my claustrophobia wreaking havoc! The 1st MRI was an utter failure ending in a major panic attack!

The scale did not register these small successes for me - I AM becoming healthier & stronger; both in body and mind!!
