Gaining 0.5 kg a Week
18 October 2016
While I did follow my calorie counting more carefully than I have been, I'm afraid this drop is largely due to a kickass throat infection. Can't eat when all you do is take codeine and sleep! We'll see if it's a real loss next week, but until that time, back to bed...

Losing 2.5 kg a Week
12 October 2016
Doing slightly better, but didn't track in Newfoundland - on the positive side, I walked FOREVER :-) Need to get back to tracking, that's certainly one of the keys! Luck to all :-)

Losing 0.3 kg a Week
01 October 2016
Ack. Failing at this - MAJOR sugar/starch binges, not tracking, all the worst signs. Now, when I've reached this point in the past I've given up; said "Oh, screw it" and gone back to my old chocoholic ways. I've lost that option this time, due to the diabetes diagnosis, so I'm going to have to do SOMETHING differently. I'll review my motivation sheet to start, and on Tuesday I leave for Newfoundland for a week - a fantastic place to walk, so I'm told. Any and all thoughts or ideas would be gratefully received, I'm losing ground (and not particularly caring). Damn.

Gaining 1.8 kg a Week
25 September 2016
Ah, well. This gain is not unexpected, and certainly not as bad as I anticipated. The whole home renovation we've done this summer has meant that we have not had access to the kitchen half the time (well, actually, there WASN'T one to gain access TO) so we've been eating fast/easy/junk/weird food, it's been very much catch-as-catch-can around here. 2.6 pounds is a doable, understandable price to pay. That said, the kitchen is DONE, and the flooring is IN, it is September (almost gone already!!) and fall has always been a time of reflection for me - if changes need to be made, in my head, I tend to make them in the autumn...hangover from all those "back to school" Septembers, I think! You know how something ALWAYS goes missing in every move, or renovation? (One move I lost all my underwear, couldn't find it ANYWHERE, so I had to buy all new, which as the women know, is EXPENSIVE...I did find it, much later that year when I unpacked the Xmas decorations. The underwear was with the tree. WHAT was I thinking when I put it there??....I only need panties during the festive season??? They're not exactly traditional tree decorations, are they? Jeez!) Anyway, during the renos I lost my bathroom scale, just found it yesterday. I think it was a happy accident. I have been SO stressed - I don't function well in chaos - that panicking over a weigh in may just have put me over the edge. DONE renos, DONE excuses, I have a gorgeous, shiny, spacious kitchen in which to create healthy meals (and a bank account that tells me I better pack lunches!) so EXCELSIOR!!! I hope everyone is well, and that you're being gentle with yourselves :-)
