A little about me...

My name is Emily, I'm 29 and I've been married to the absolute most wonderful man in the world for 9 years now. I'm a Hoosier--born and raised! We have no children of the human variety, but have a snuggle-y puppy, Lily (adopted July '10).

In August 2006, I was diagnosed with Insulin Resistance, Ammenorrhea, and a progesterone deficiency, thus causing my infertility. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 8 years now with no success at all.

In 2010, I was officially diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism. I had suspected for a long time that that's what I was suffering from both, I just never had an "offical" diagnosis. Thus, another reason for the infertility.

In 2006 I was put on the medication Metformin and was able to lose 30lbs fairly quickly. But, in the summer of 2007, I went off the medication and gained the 30lbs back plus 13 more. Depressing...

With weight loss I can reverse the Insulin Resistance and lessen the symptoms of the PCOS which will hopefully end my struggles with Infertility. It's a constant and slow battle, but I'm not about to let myself just sit here and do nothing about it. This is my weight loss journey with PCOS and Insulin Resistance.

Current Medications:
1000mg Metformin (IR & PCOS)
25mcg levothyroxin (hypothyroidism)
20mg lisinopril (high blood pressure)
50mg spironolactone (PCOS & diuretic)

Herbals/Supplements:
Daily Mulit-Vitamin
